What is it?

One man's mission to bring music to the masses, Deeprange Radio is a project by gonadsandstrife to act as a clearinghouse for music, new & old born out of popular audiography posts as well as his own personal mp3 serves.
Why do it?
Because he's a masochist. Because he arrogantly believes he has a superior tastes in music & it needs to be shared. But mostly because he likes giving back to the community at large.
What kind of music?
All kinds. See the interest below? That's a good chunk.
Why can't I see any of it?
Because it's members-only. Simple to do. Join the community, get the music.
How often is it?
We'll try for once a week. Life circumstances happen, though. Figure every 6 to 10 days.
Can I post my music, too?
Nope, this is just for this one guy. You want to post stuff, feel free to join up at audiography.
Why are the files encoded no higher than 128 kbps?
When this collection was started, everything had been kept on his iPod & until recently when it filled up it was all on there; until June 2007, it was the only place it all was. For that reason, it was deemed that some sound quality would sacrificed for packing density. if it bothers you that much, think of them as samples to download; you can always go & get the CDs or find higher-rate digital files.

There are a few rules:
Don't be a douchebag. The only douchebaggery allowed is from me, & maybe a few others that I tolerate. Annoying douchebaggery results in the potential detonation of the +9000 Antimatter Warhead of Bannination, depending on how funny you might be, how pissy of a mood I'm in, how much of a douchebag you are, & other whimmy factors. It's simpler not to be a douchebag.
You don't have to comment, but it's nice to know who's taking what.
Each post will contain a link to a downloadable HTML file of the available music library. Unless otherwise specified, requests are generally open. Comments are not emailed to me, so if you want to request something make sure to put the word "REQUEST" in the subject line of the comment so that I see it.
If you make a request, be nice, & be specific. Don't get pissy if you ask for "anything by They Might Be Giants" & I post something other than the song you really wanted. If you want that song, ask for it. Better yet, grab the library file & look to see if I have it. That way, all are satisifed.
