| Bowie was, and is, a fucking genius. As an audio technician, I'm always in awe of the various techniques and effects he's originated over the decades. He's also a consummate showman, as well as a brilliant musician (just how many instruments can he play, anyway?). He's constantly coming up with new approaches to music; Space Oddity remains a perfect little micro-opera. (Incidentally, he's seen, and approves highly of, the revised version written and recorded in zero-gee by the crew of the ISS.) On top of all that, he was born the same year I was, and he's still dead sexy! |
