Abstract

Low propagation loss of 0.02 dB/cm was achieved in a 5.5%- ΔZrO2-SiO2-based PLC. A coherent mixer employing the ZrO2-SiO2 PLC was successfully fabricated, and chip size was reduced to 2 mm × 4 mm.
