Elemental ratios and average oxidation state of carbon in protein sequences.
Elemental ratios were calculated from the chemical formulas of all protein sequences available in the Bison Pool environmental genome, and average oxidation state of carbon () was calculated using Eq. (2). The bars are centered on the means, and the heights of the bars represent the 95% confidence intervals derived from a bootstrap analysis.
