Adrenergic β2-Receptors Mediates Visceral Hypersensitivity Induced by Heterotypic Intermittent Stress in Rats (original) (raw)
Figure 2
Administration of β2-adrenoceptor antagonist attenuated AWR scores in HIS rats.
(A, B) The β1-adrenoceptor antagonist Atenolol (1.5, 10 mg/kg) had no visible effect on AWR scores and distension threshold. (C, D) The β2-adrenoceptor antagonist Butoxamine (0.5, 1.5 and 5 mg/kg) largely blocked visceral hyperalgesia induced by HIS in a dose-dependent manner, the maximal effect was observed at 5 mg/kg, *p<0.05 vs. NS. (E, F) The β3-adrenoceptor antagonist SR_59230A (0.5 and 1.5 mg/kg) had no visible effect on the visceral hypersensitivity induced by HIS. NS: normal saline; Buto: Aten: Atenolol; Butoxamine; SR: SR_59230A.
