A detailed gradiometer survey was conducted over land within the Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA), Salisbury, Wiltshire. The project was commissioned by URS Infrastructure and Environment UK Limited, on behalf of the defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) with the aim of establishing the presence, or otherwise, and nature of detectable archaeological features on the site ahead of a proposed housing development for Service Family Accommodation (SFA). The survey covered 4 different areas in Larkhill and Bulford totalling 41.22ha. These sites comprised Bulford North, Bulford South, Larkhill East, and Larkhill West. The survey was completed in a number of installments between 18th July and 18th September 2014. |
