About Dominican University & The Dominicorns:
Dominican University is a small Catholic Liberal Arts university. It services a wide variety of students on both Graduate and Undergraduate and is most known for its Library Science, Business, and Education programs.
It also offers a strong undergraduate science program.
Dominican Motto: Caritas and Veritas
Athletic Mascot: The Stars
School Colors: Blue and White

This community is for current and former Dominican University (of Illinois) students. Exceptions may be made for potential students with the approval of a maintainer, to appeal for membership if you expect to be student please leave a comment here (all comments are screened).

Community Code of Conduct
In light of circumstances that have arose in this community we are regrettably having to form a specific set of rules and consequences. We apologize if this seems harsh but it is imperative that we communicate the gravity of disrespect and misconduct. All concerns and questions on this matter should be left in a comment here (all comments will be screened).
General Rules:
Be respectful of ALL members! Remember, not everyone holds the same beliefs as you and there is nothing wrong with differences. Do not attack or criticize other members for their beliefs.
Comments and posts should be Dominican/college related. For this reason if issues that are not regarding the university or university life are brought up action will taken against them.
If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions about this community or a member of it please leave a comment here (all comments will be screened). All other complaints will be redirected here or ignored.
Harassment of any member of this community will not be tolerated. The moderator will either issue warnings according to the circumstances or remove the offending member. Accounts of harassment within this community should be reported here in a comment (all comments will be screened).
Most members are moderated meaning they cannot post without the consent of a moderator (with the exception of members who have gained the trust of the moderators to post respectful/meaningful/on-topic entries). However, anyone is free to post comments without being screened. Because we require this screening process for posts, if a moderator is aware of a comment that does not adhere to the above rules he/she WILL remove it and a warning will be issued. Make note this is in no way censorship!!! Removal of posts/comments will be completely objective and based on the rules stated above. If you are concerned that a comment/post has been removed or denied based on reasons other than those mentioned above please leave a comment here (all comments will be screened).
In Case of Debates or Intellectual Conversations:
- Please read The Mannerly Art of Disagreement before engaging in debate.
- Follow all points to the best of your endowed ability.
- Be respectful
- Remain on topic
- If you choose to disregard any of the rules of debate the moderator reserves the right to remove your comment/post.
Warnings:
Level 1 - Reprimand
Level 2 - Denial of posting privilege
Level 3 - Removal
Level 4 - Removal & Ban
Warnings will be issued and documented according to the circumstances of the event. The moderator(s) reserve the right to issue any level warning in accordance with the circumstance which includes an immediate removal and ban. Once a warning has been issued to your name it will stick with you and any other reprimands will add on to your previous ones (ex: offense 1 - you're issued a level 1; offense 2 - your level is raised to a 2; etc...). Levels will be removed individually 6 months after your last offense. Levels of offense will remain confidential between moderators and the specific members.
Questions & Concerns
If you have a question, comment, or concern please feel free to leave a comment here. All comments WILL BE SCREENED. If a moderator thinks that a comment should be unscreened to act as a Q&A the moderator may request the permission to un screen the comment but if the commenter denies permission this will be respected. The confidentiality of all commenters will be respected!
