Shoojah Adowlah [Shujaʿ ad-Daula] remained with him, brooding over his supposed insults, and probably, though a Mussulman, drinking a good deal of wine, until about 2 o'clock a.m.; when, at Oosman's [Usman's] instigation, he proceeded, with a few followers, to waylay the King on the road from the Bala Hissar to the camp at Seah Sung. He had not remained long before his Majesty's nalky (a kind of litter) appeared in sight, in which Shah Shoojah [Shah Shujaʿ] was.
