Part celebration and part conference, the Wikipedia Day 18th Birthday Bash was held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Ace Hotel New York and hosted by Wikimedia NYC. One of a number of Wikipedia Days worldwide, the day featured keynote presentations, breakout group discussions, lightning talks and yes, cake. Wikimedia NYC is especially interested in seeing newcomers join experienced Wikipedians/Wikimedians on this day, so step right up.

Participation is free, but limited based on capacity. First come.

Wikipedia Day is free to attend and welcome to all! Please consider supporting its success by donating your time or funds to cover expenses such as food and travel scholarships (be sure to write "Wikipedia Day" in the notes!). If you take photos at the event, please consider uploading them to Wikimedia Commons, being sure to add the Category:Wikipedia Day 18 NYC.

Add your 3 minute lightning talk here! Lightning talks may cover a wide range of topics related to Wikipedia, Wikimedia, and the larger free culture movement. They don't even have to mention Wikipedia! However, we ask that lightning talks aren't used to promote or sell products and services.
