**This was originally started as a 'haven' for those of us who were in pro_anorexia, but eventually got frustrated and sick. It is not limited to those of us with eating disorders, but if you disagree in general with the whole pro-ED movement, please refrain from joining, unless you can handle it in a mature and sensible manner**

How a person defines an 'eating disorder' varies greatly from one person to the next. There are clinical definitions, personal definitions, anti and pro definitions. However you view it, is up to you, but please respect that a person may or may not have control over their definitions and afflictions.

What is the cliche of the pro-ed movement? That we are all emaciated girls unable to function normally or talk about anything other than how much(or little) we ate and how fat we are. We are nothing people, committed to wasting away with our pretend illnesses, while the world looks on.

Why is Escape Cliche different? Our goal is to inform, educate, discuss, support, question, and embrace why we are the way we are. We are all here for each other in a mature, informative, and supportive way and we are trying to create an information society as a complement to our support system on thinspiring2,thinspiring, and other ed communities.

Welcome to the Escape.

And now for the rules/fine print/etc:
-linking to other communities is fine, but please refrain from linking to ones that are either irrelevant to us or are 'anti'
-while this is an open community, abuse of any kind won't be tolerated and posts will be deleted, users will be banned.
-please respect the fact that people here may or may not have an eating disorder and we don't judge anyone based on their afflicitions or opinions.
-debates and active discussions about the information posted are welcomed and encouraged. flames are not.
-it's always nice to learn more about each other, so introduce yourself!
-please refrain from using escape cliche to post surveys about the extent of your disorder, highest/lowest weights, can you look in the mirror, how often you purge, failures and success. thinspiring2 is our sister board, please post all and any of the above there!
-suggestions are always welcome, please feel free to email me with your thoughts. :)
