This is a community for Eva Braun, Hitler's devoted girlfriend and, for the last two days before they died together, his wife.

For sixteen years Eva Braun single-mindedly loved Hitler as a man, not because of his position or power. Hitler kept her hidden away on the Obersalzberg and very few people even in his innermost circle knew who she was. The German people and the rest of the world only learned of her existence after she died alongside Hitler in Berlin, shortly after he finally rewarded her love, her loyalty and her fearlessness by marrying her in a simple ceremony on 29 April 1945. Thus she died Eva Hitler.

Historical views have often been dismissive of her, describing her as unintelligent and flighty. However, there is no evidence to support this. On the contrary, nearly all reliable sources described her as a kind, sensitive, quiet young woman who devoted her life to giving Hitler the homely pleasures that he otherwise lacked. Hitler, in turn, remained faithful to her throughout their relationship, worried about her safety, and defended her on numerous occasions against the disapproval of those in his inner circle.

This community does not in any way support Hitler or Nazism. We're here to discuss Eva's life, not the political climate in which she lived. Eva had no political ambitions and neither does this community. Anyone interested in Eva is welcome here regardless of their political views. That said, I will not tolerate any anti-Semitic or prejudicial remarks. If you have these views please refrain from expressing them. Hitler kept his political and personal lives strictly apart, and Eva took no part in nor had any knowledge of the inner workings of the National Socialist regime or its crimes. Because these things have nothing to do with Eva, and because of my personal views, they will not be tolerated.

Please join and introduce yourself; explain how you became interested in Eva. Anything concerning Eva you'd like to share - photographs, excerpts from books, icons/graphics, your own thoughts and impressions, etc. - is welcome here. Thank you!
