Claim any available character from any fandom and write a fic for every fifth year of their life, starting when your character is five years old. Of course, the number of fics will vary for each person, as characters live to be different ages. Living characters are welcomed and encouraged; it’s up to the author how far their life will extend.	Any unclaimed character from any fandom is welcome! Comment on the claiming post with your preferred character and his or her fandom. Please check the claimed list to ensure that someone else hasn’t already claimed your character. You can only claim two characters at any given time. Once your claim has been accepted, the mod will respond to your comment to let you know that it is now on the claimed list.
All fics written for everyfiveyears must be at least 500 words. There can be other characters, but it should center on your chosen character and the events of his/her life at their current age.In addition, when the mod accepts your claim, they will create three tags for you: an author tag, a fandom tag (if it hasn't already been created), and a character tag. Please do not tag your entries yourself. A mod will tag them as they add your story to the memories. Tags are an easy way to find all the stories in a certain fandom.All fics must be under a LJ cut. Please post your fics sequentially (age five, age ten, age fifteen, etc.). You can post your fics one at a time, in groups, or all at once. Links or fake-cuts to your personal journal or your writing journal/community are fine.Post Template	Because most characters' lives don't end on a 'challenge' year, it's perfectly fine (and encouraged) to post one last fic if you would like to do so.Once you've posted all your fics (and your character's last year, if you wrote it), leave a comment at the archive post of completed claims. A mod will add your claim to the post and reply to your comment with a banner for bragging rights and whatnot. =)
