Fibromyalgia: The Invisible Disease (fibro_hell)

Kenosha, Wisconsin, United States

Fibromyalgia is still a very little understood or totally misunderstood disease. Fibromyalgia is NOT a made-up disease. The symptoms are NOT just in your head. The Pain is REAL. The Fatigue is REAL. The Depression and Anxiety caused by living in REAL physical pain everyday is REAL. Awareness of this disease must be spread. And knowledge and understanding and compassion must be found. There are alot of websites which provide good information, although some of it is conflicting. I will do my best to put up a list of as many of these websites as I can. Also, I will do my best to provide whatever knowledge I have. Do to a severe lack of support groups for Fibromyalgia in the southeastern area of Wisconsin, I am considering starting one up myself. Not sure where yet, or how to go about doing this. Fibromyalgia sneaks up on you and knocks you on your rearend! It takes your breath away! Symptoms of Fibromyalgia will be provided soon. Not that I don't have a very good knowledge of what they are, but it's very late and I want to provide very accurate information. I don't want to leave anything out.

Okay, this is maybe going to sound repetive, but I will fix it later. I wanted this first journal entry of mine, to somehow stay at the top, but I guess it doesn't work that way! So, here it is:

Hello,

Welcome to this Fibromyalgia Community. The purpose of this community is to provide or share information/knowledge, facts, feelings, opinions, support, understanding, compassion, and friendship in regards to Fibromyalgia. This includes but is not limited to: Symptoms, Diet/Nutrition, personal stories, factual stories, experiences, theories, philosophies, self-help, helping others, treatments, inspiration, joy and sadness, laughter and tears, frustrations, relief, revelations, etc. Everyone is welcome, unless you mean or intend to hurt, insult, or damage the feelings or views of another person/and or poster. Currently there is no moderating being done. Meaning, I am not screening any of the posts or comments before they are being posted. This will continue to be the way things work around here unless someone chooses not to respect others.

I will start posting whatever information or advice that I currently have or have found soon. In the meantime, please feel free to share whatever information you may already have or have found. Or just feel free to share you own story.

So, for now, I will say get plenty of rest, even if they complain; exercise (stretch); drink chamomile tea, and try to be merry.
