This is an open community for the GLBT youth of Michigan and its surrounding areas [Ohio, Indiana, Ontario, etc] to meet others like them, and maybe even get out and be social once in awhile with those they meet.

THE HISTORY OF FIREZONE

Firezone-- or, I should say, #FireZone, was an IRC Channel from 199?-2000 where a large network of social friends from Michigan would meet up just about daily to chat, bicker, plan dates, meet new people, and generally have a good time. There was also a real-life group composed mostly of a handful of these people that met weekly in downtown Flint and discussed current GLBT issues and affairs. Both of these excellent social channels fell apart after 2000, mostly due to a sudden death of one of our own in 1999. People grew up and went their seperate ways, and there were none that took their place. We've all romanticized the seemingly magic IRC channel, and are still haunted by the circumstances in which it disbanded. I created this community, hoping this updated model appeals to this generation of GLBT youth.

I suppose we'll see where it goes from here.
