Dear Windows Vista,
I have to say that in some ways, I find it very comfortable to use you as a platform for the Linux virtual machines in which I do my actual work. You handle the stuff like graphics and wireless networking which STILL didn't work out-of-the-box under Linux, while I can enjoy the flexibility, convenience and extra security that virtual machines bring.
However, what the hell is with this continual slowdowns and hard-disk thrashing? For the love of Dog, you're running with a recent dual-core processor and 3 GB of RAM. What have you got to do that's so damn' urgent that you've got to stop my system almost completely for whole minutes at a time while you bottleneck on the hard disk, with nothing but the NT kernel actually using any CPU time? Would it really be so difficult to schedule these things in the background so they don't get in my way? You are my operating system; that means you're supposed to support the things you're running, not spend so much time actively obstructing them!
