_7:55 am_[chedranian_girl] | Is anyone still here? [pokes community]Um...my name's Beck. I've been an Elfmaniac and Boingoloid since I was 13. I discovered FZ when I was 14, and have never looked back.I have a few questions, vis-a-vis Rick Elfman.Anyone know when Rick's site is going to get updated? Because when I checked it just now, it said RICHARD ELFMAN in big letters. Or is the problem on my end, and I just need to update my software? And is Rick EVER going to release "The Sixth Element"?P.S. Has anyone ever sent him an e-mail and gotten a real response (NOT a form letter)? He never responded to my e-mail. :( (Comment on this) |

_2:37 pm_[jenbugg] | REMINDER! BOSTON AUDITION! Auditions for: FORBIDDEN ZONE – LIVE! Forbidden Zone is coming to the stage! The 1980 cult classic written by Richard Elfman and composed by and featuring his brother Danny Elfman (Nightmare before Christmas, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure) is being debuted this year live and on stage for the very first time. This is the official (Elfman approved!) premiere of Forbidden Zone. The production team for this performance is so excited to have the opportunity to bring Forbidden Zone to the stage. We are seeking equally enthusiastic performers to help us bring it to life. PLOT DESCRIPTIONOingo Boingo fans and midnight movie mavens will love this bizarre black-and-white feature packed with music, madness, and members of the Elfman clan. The story revolves around the Hercules family, who live in a house that just happens to hide a secret entrance to the Sixth Dimension in the basement. When daughter Frenchy skips school one afternoon, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to the forbidden door, and winds up a prisoner in this alternate world. King Fausto, the diminutive leader of the Sixth Dimension, is enamored with the beautiful young Frenchy and keeps her in the same cell as his favorite concubines, despite the disapproval of Queen Doris. Frenchy's brother, Flash, follows her into the Forbidden Zone with Gramps in tow, intending to save her, but they too are captured and must call school chum Squeezit for help. Squeezit tries to assist, but ends up captured and decapitated by Satan, though this development doesn't keep his disembodied noggin from flying about and informing King Fausto that the Queen is planning to dispose of his beloved Frenchy. The appearance of the King's first wife and the kidnapping of his topless daughter further confuse matters, but everything is wrapped up neatly with an elaborate song and dance number at the conclusion. ~ Fred Beldin, All Movie Guide (http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/movie.html?v_id=18170)We are currently casting performers who can carry a tune, dance a few steps and pull off a joke. We are looking for a solid and committed cast, as this show will be running from November –March with several breaks. Performances will be in New England, primarily in Boston and Derry N.H. Actors will be compensated. This production is non-equity. ALL AGES (over 18) and body types needed! Audition Info:When: Sunday June 11th 2pm.Where: 1171 Boylston St. Apt 12What to prepare:- A brief (1 min) comedic monologue, either from the film(we will have a few sides available)or one that you already know and are comfortable with. - 16 bars of your favorite tune. The music is by Danny Elfman (Oingo Boingo, The Nightmare Before Xmas, Beetlejuice) so anything jazzy and upbeat would be appreciated. **the soundtrack is available on Itunes and local stores**- There will be a short dance audition. _2:07 pm_[dread_pirate] | It came!I went to A&B Sound in December and asked if they could order this in for me. They said yes, but wouldn't be able to put the order through until January. In mid-January I went back, and put my order in. I was told that it would be in in February. February comes, then March and I phone A&B Sound asking where my DVD was. They tell me that they wont be able to order this in anymore, so I cut my losses and move on. A couple of days ago I was relaxing in the tub and the phone ring and call display says A&B Sound. I dropped a resume off there a couple of months ago and figured they were phoning for an interview, but no, my DVD was in! After 7 months of waiting! I jumped out of the tub and got there as quick as I could, gave them my last 40$, and hugged my DVD for about an hour. I didn't know the DVD had so many extra features, and I was actually excited about them. I normally skip the special features, maybe watch the deleted scenes, but I watched all of them all on this DVD. So far I've watched the movie 5 times, and 2 times with the commentary on.I'm going to try taking a few screen shots so I can make a few icons. If anyone's interested, drop me a line.i'm also working on a forbidden zone tattoo. excited!Current Mood: crazy (10 Comments |Comment on this) |

_8:18 pm_[pygmybugs] | Howdy. For whatever reason, it's taken me this long to find this group. Amazing. I'm a rabid proselytizing FZ fan, often having to restrain myself from kidnapping strangers, duct-taping them to my couch and forcing them to watch it with those Clockwork Orange eyelid-clamp-thingies. Just read back a ways and hit Susan Tyrell's homepage and watched the video. How did she lose her legs? She reminds me a lot of my godmother. Not nearly as good, but if you like Herve Villachez' performance, he's kinda similar in "Seizure," which I believe was Oliver Stone's first directing gig. It's on the borderline of good/bad and bad/bad. Anyway, greetings to all. Current Mood: sore (3 Comments |Comment on this) |

_1:32 pm_[dread_pirate] | The more you know... It didn't occur to me until just now that Jenna Elfman of Dharma and Greg fame could have any relation to Danny or Richard, but as it turn's out Richard is her father in law.In other news, my DVD copy and soundtrack should be here any day and I don't think I could be any more excited.
