Microseismic methods are methods which are using passive source that can be applied to analyze th... more Microseismic methods are methods which are using passive source that can be applied to analyze the site effect potential around Prambanan temple, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The earthquakes can induce a trigger to activate the seismic hazard. Thus, the information about site effect potential was needed to prevent the damages of Prambanan temple in the future. Due to the close relation between the nature of microtremors and the fundamental dynamic behavior of the surface soil layer, different properties of soil in an area, also different properties microseismic signals recorded by seismometer. Thus, these small vibrations are well-known and useful in the field of earthquake engineering.. The technique of microtremors measurement and analysis has been successful for microzoning in many places around the world. This paper presents an experimental study of microtremors for investigation ground characteristics, were carried out in several points around Prambanan temple to investigate the soil properties in this area. In the result of this study, it should be noted that the characteristics of microtremors are dependent on the type of soil deposits. Site effect plays an important role in microtremors measurements. Thus, it can be used to provide more information to improve the microzonation map of seismic vulnerability indices. The microzonation map is expected to be used as a reference for building, urban planning in around Prambanan and encourage innovations to reduce the impact of the Prambanan Temple’s seismic vulnerability as an Indonesian cultural heritage.

In the scope of our works, The excessive exploration of groundwater can result soil subsidence, it is necessary to study the characteristics of groundwater in Kasihan Area, Pacitan. This study using Vertical Electrical Sounding method is one of geophysical method for exploration to find the value of resistivity rocks. This research has been done to identify the aquifer zone at Kasihan Village, Pacitan, East Java Province by using geolectrical resistivity method. Data processing was done using Progress software, yielding aquifer zone in the target area. Five stations of these are conducted using the Schlumberger configuration to covering the area. Analysis results showed that the depth of confined aquifer was 5-14 m below soil surface with a thickness of more than 8 m. Groundwater flow patterns at the research location headed toward the north.

The Indonesian government has announced the issue of waste as the national problem which has to b... more The Indonesian government has announced the issue of waste as the national problem which has to be solved especially in the large urban area. Even though a lot of waste processing techniques are already offered to minimize its impact, it is still in effective to solve the problem. This is due to the current waste management system has not been in accordance with the methods and techniques of environmental-friendly waste management system. The aim of this research is to form the utilization of organic waste for RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) as a raw material to substitute coal in the steam-electrical power plant. The synthesis of RDF from organic waste consists of four main steps, which are crushing process, mixing process, forming process, and drying process. The result shows that organic waste can be processed to form RDF which can substitute coal in the steam-electrical power plant and further, will also solve the waste issue which is currently happening in Indonesia and other countries around the globe.

Data processing was done using RES2Dinv software program, yielding rock layers in the landslide area. Theinterpretation result shows that the under surface geology structure varies extensively with lithology consist i.e.clay, wet clay, sandy clay until claysand, sand until breccia. The slip surface is the wet clay layer with resistivityvalue range from 20-

Dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan pengukuran gravitasi di Desa Kasihan, Kecamatan Tegalombok, Kabupaten Pacitan, Jawa Timur untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan zona sesar diperkirakan yang kemungkinan beradasejajar dengan sungai. Dengan menggunakan metode gravitasi dan GPS didapatkan nilai anomaly yang tinggi pada meter ke 2000 di lintasan survey yang diduga merupakan akibat dari kontras densitas dibawah permukaan pada kedalaman sekitar 700 meter yang berasosiasi dengan sesar.
