The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of science and technology course with onl... more The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of science and technology course with online-based prepared posters on students' attitude toward science and technology course. Some science topics were taught with the online-based prepared posters. It was an experimental study with a pre and post-test with participants for this study consisting of 25 middle 8th grade students in Turkey. Some topics were given to students: Ozone layer, acid rain, cloning, stem cell, global warming, human genome project, endangered animals, nuclear pollution, diseases of our age, tectonic movements: earthquake. The students conducted research on online. Posters were prepared at power point program and were presented in classroom. Data was collected by the Attitude toward Science Test (ATST) and interview. There was a significant difference between students' ATST pre and post-test. (p < 0.05).The result revealed that the process had a positive impact on students' attitudes toward science.

Bu arastirmanin temel amaci fen ve teknoloji derslerinde kavram haritalarinin degerlendirme araci... more Bu arastirmanin temel amaci fen ve teknoloji derslerinde kavram haritalarinin degerlendirme araci olarak kullaniminin incelenmesidir. Bu temel amac dogrultusunda arastirmada, kavram haritalarinin puanlandirilmasi ve kavram haritalarinda kullanilan kavramlar ile ayni kavramlara iliskin coktan secmeli test sorularina verilen ogrenci cevaplarinin karsilastirilmasi amaclanmistir. Arastirma 7.sinifta ogrenim goren 30 ogrenci ile gerceklestirilmistir. Arastirma sonucunda ogrencilerin kavram haritalarinda konu ile ilgili anahtar kavramlari birbirleriyle iliskilendirmede ve kavramlar arasi baglantilar olusturmada zorlanirken, ayni kavramlara iliskin coktan secmeli test sorularini dogru cevapladiklari tespit edilmistir. Yapisal ve iliskisel puanlama yontemleri ile degerlendirilen kavram haritalarindan elde edilen puanlar, iki puanlama teknigi arasinda anlamli ve yuksek bir korelasyon oldugunu gostermistir.

The sample of this study composed of 116 first year university students at different classes of the Department of Science Education. As the data collection instruments, Thinking of Logical Test (TOLT), Chemical Equilibrium Achievement Test (ceAT), Chemical Equilibrium Particulate Nature of Matter Evaluation Test (cePNMET), were used. Statistical analysis of the data obtained from research done. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of argumentation based on student-constru... more The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of argumentation based on student-constructed ‘pre\' and ‘post\' laboratory concept maps on students\' attitudes towards chemistry laboratory in a university general chemistry course. Concept mapping has been used as a tool to carry out the argumentations about chemical concepts involved in general chemistry laboratory experiments between instructors and students, and among students. In the experimental group, students (N=41) performed their general chemistry laboratory experiments using individual, small and large group discussions based on students\' pre- and post- laboratory concept maps, whereas the control group students (N=43) performed their laboratory investigations using traditional approaches. This study aims to determine the effect of drama activities on the environmental knowledge, attit... more This study aims to determine the effect of drama activities on the environmental knowledge, attitude, and behaviors of preservice science teachers to be observed at the end of the drama activities within the framework of determined environmental issues. This is a pretest-posttest control group-designed study. The study was conducted with a total of 67 preservice teachers of which 33 (9 males, 24 females) constituted the experimental group and 34 (13 males, 21 females) constituted the control group. The participants studies in the Science Teaching Program of Primary Education Department in Gazi University's Gazi Education Faculty. To determine the environmental awareness of preservice teachers, the study created an Environmental Awareness Scale (EAS) which was composed of three different tests: Environmental Awareness Knowledge Test (EAKT), Environmental Awareness Attitude Test (EAAT), and Environmental Awareness Behavior Test (EABT). In the study, EAS was applied to the participants both as a pretest and a posttest. The results revealed that the drama method has a positive effect on the preservice teachers' environmental awareness. When the two groups were compared, it was found that there was a significant difference to the advantage of the experimental regarding the knowledge and behavior scores. However, the difference between the attitudes was not significant. In the light of the results, some suggestions were stated at the end of the study.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Maddenin Tanecikli Yapısı Ünite'sinin öğretiminde Jigsaw yönteminin 6.sını... more Bu araştırmanın amacı, Maddenin Tanecikli Yapısı Ünite'sinin öğretiminde Jigsaw yönteminin 6.sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen ve Teknoloji dersindeki akademik başarılarına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma, 2012-2013 öğretim yılında6. sınıfta okuyan 70 öğrencinin katılımı ile yürütüldü.Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan Maddenin Tanecikli Yapısı Akademik Başarı Testi (mABT) ve Jigsaw Görüş Ölçeği (JGÖ) kullanıldı. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 19 programında frekans ve yüzde, Independent Student t-testi ve ANCOVA testleri ile analiz edildi. Araştırmanın sonucunda, iki grubun akademik başarı seviyelerinde deney grubu lehine anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Ayrıca uygulanan öğretim yönteminin etki büyüklüğü (Cohen's d) 0.49 olarak buludu.. mABT son test olarak uygulandıktan 12 hafta sonra kalıcılık testi olarak tekrar uygulanmış ve deney grubu lehine anlamlı fark olduğu ayrıca Jigsawyönteminin geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerine göre daha etkili olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşıldı. Bunun yanında öğrencilerin işbirlikli öğrenme ile ilgili görüşlerinin de genellikle olumlu olduğu belirlendi.

The stochiometric protonation constants of (log10K1 and log10K2) some alanyl dipeptides (Ala–Tyr,... more The stochiometric protonation constants of (log10K1 and log10K2) some alanyl dipeptides (Ala–Tyr, Ala–Phe, Ala–Val, Ala–Leu, Ala–Ala and Ala–Met) were determined in binary mixtures of water with 1,4-dioxane and dimethylsulfoxide containing 20, 40 and 60 % (v/v), using a potentiometric titration method at 25 ± 0.1 °C and constant ionic strength of 0.10 mol·L−1 sodium chloride. The autoprotolysis constant values (Kap) of the media were also determined for each solvent mixture. The protonation constants of the dipeptides were calculated with the computer program BEST and selection of the best fit chemical models was based on the statistical parameters. The effects of the different amino acids bound to the alanine on the acidity of the alanyl dipeptides have been investigated. Finally, the results are discussed in terms of the effect of the solvent composition on the protonation constants.

The acid-base chemistry of multidentate (bio)ligands are usually characterized in terms of macros... more The acid-base chemistry of multidentate (bio)ligands are usually characterized in terms of macroscopic protonation constants, log 10 K (or pK), which are composites of the microscopic constants (log 10 k or pk) for the individual groups. In this study, macroscopic protonation constants of some a-amino acid (glycine, L-alanine, L-valine, L-leucine, L-phenylalanine, L-serine) and protonation constants of their methyl-and ethyl-esters in dimethyl sulfoxide-water mixtures (10-40 % dimethylsulfoxide by volume) were studied by potentiometric technique at 25.0 ± 0.1°C under a nitrogen atmosphere, and at ionic strength of 0.10 molÁL-1 sodium chloride. The protonation constants were calculated by using the Best computer program and the constants were evaluated for microscopic protonation constants of these a-amino acids. The protonation constants are discussed on the basis of solute-solvent interactions. The constants were influenced by changes in solvent composition. The dipolar ionic form, however, still greatly predominates, even in 40 % dimethyl sulfoxide. A new solid-state membrane ion-selective electrode sensitive to Pb(II) ions was developed. Two di... more A new solid-state membrane ion-selective electrode sensitive to Pb(II) ions was developed. Two different methods based on two different sulfide preparation techniques were employed to make up the membrane of the electrode. The electrodes with the membranes prepared by these two methods did not show any appreciable difference in performance. The proposed electrode exhibited a Nernstian slope of 28.3 ± 0.2 mV/pPb over a wide working range from 1.0 10"' to 1.0 " 5. It has a fast response time (< 10 s), a satisfactory reproducibility and a relatively long lifetime (> a year) without any considerable divergence in potential. The selectivity coefficients of thirteen cations were determined by the fixed interference method and the electrode showed a fairly good selectivity to Pb 2+ ion in comparison to other common cations, namely Cd 2+ , Cu 2+ , Co 2+ , Fe 2+ , Ni 2+ , Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , Ba 2+ , Mn 2t , Zn 2+ and Sr 2+. It was found that only Ag + and Hg 2+ had an interfering effect. The influence of pH was studied and the potential response was independent of the pH of the test solutions in the range 3.5-6.0. It was successfully used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of lead ionr with EDTA to determine the lead contents of a standard lead solution and standard lead samples. In this study, the effects of STEM-based activities on students' motivation to learn science were... more In this study, the effects of STEM-based activities on students' motivation to learn science were investigated, and the opinions of students about the applied activities were also analyzed. The research group consists of a total of 98 eighth grade students studying in a state middle school in the 2018-2019 academic year. Six classes were included in the research, three experimental groups and three control groups were assigned randomly. The study process was carried out in a total of eight weeks while The Applications of Science. While teaching the experimental group with STEM activities, the control group was applied to the content of the curriculum of the science applications course. The groups were not affected by each other and equal lessons were given in all groups. The study was used as a semi-experimental design with the pretestposttest control group. In the research, "The Questionnaire for Motivation toward Science Learning" was used as a data collection tool, and "Semi-structured Interview Form" was used to determine the students' views on STEM activities during the application process of the experimental group students. The reliability coefficient of the scale used is 0.80. The semi-structured interview form was developed by the researchers. For the content validity of the questions in the form, ideas of two field education experts and one assessment and evaluation expert were taken. Analysis of the quantitative data collected from the questionnaire for motivation toward science learning made using the t-test for independent groups. Written answers of the students to the semistructured interview form were analyzed by content analysis, which is one of the qualitative analysis methods. As a result of the investigation, it decided that the motivation of the experimental group students was higher than that of the control group students. Additionally, students said that they had the pleasure while STEM activity applications.

Purpose: In science education, it is among the most important purposes that students become prima... more Purpose: In science education, it is among the most important purposes that students become primarily scientific literate individuals. Scientific literacy is associated with deep understanding of “Nature of Science [NOS] and scientific inquiry processes. At this point, teachers' adequate level content knowledge about the nature of science gain importance because of responsibility of their students' getting contemporary understanding of the nature of science. In this study, it is aimed to determine and compare the status of pre-service science teachers and Science and Technology teachers' content knowledge about the nature of science. Method: This study is a descriptive model in which qualitative research techniques are used. In 2009-2010 education year, 89 pre-service teachers who are studying in 4th class in one of the leading universities in science education in Turkey and 64 Science and Technology teachers who are working in small city in Turkey participated in the study. The situation of the knowledge of the participants about the nature of science is determined using “Views about Nature of Science (BDYG) questionnaire which is adapted to Turkish from “VOSTS (Views on Science-Technology-Society). In order to analyze the answers of participants to the questions in BDYG questionnaire, every questionnaire item placed under every question is encoded by 10 field experts as "Realistic ", "Has Merit" and "Naive ". After every item that pre-service and in-service science teachers chose in BDYG questionnaire is analyzed, frequencies and percentages for each item are calculated in accordance with the descriptive analysis. Results and Suggestion: According to the results of the analysis, pre-service science and in-service teachers conducted in research are found to have a certain level of content knowledge about the nature of science. However, that level of knowledge they have about the nature of science does not sufficiently represent a contemporary vision at an adequate level. Moreover, as one of the most important results of the research, widespread realistic and naive views of the in-service teachers resulted from BDYG questionnaire are quite parallel with pre-service teachers in same categories. The realistic views that participants have in high percentage and that are parallel to each other are on "tentativeness of scientific knowledge", "mistakes in scientific studies, “precision and uncertainty in scientific knowledge, “influence of society on scientist and “defining science. Besides, both participant groups have same level naive views on “characteristics of hypothesis, theories and laws, “the epistemological status of laws, hypotheses and theories and “the nature of scientific models issues. In this context, it is thought that both groups should take field education about nature of science. This education, for pre-service science teachers, can be through lessons related to science and nature of science which are given in their university education and for in service teachers, through in-service education and seminars from which every teacher can get benefit. Bu araştırmanın amacı 3D tasarım programlarından biri olan Tinkercad Programının kullanımıyla ilg... more Bu araştırmanın amacı 3D tasarım programlarından biri olan Tinkercad Programının kullanımıyla ilgili fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarına eğitim vermek ve adayların söz konusu programın fen derslerinde kullanımına yönelik görüşlerini belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, 2016-2017 bahar döneminde 7 hafta süren bir eğitim programı yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu bir devlet üniversitesinin son sınıfında öğrenim gören 40 fen bilgisi öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın deseni durum araştırması olarak belirlenmiştir. Nitel verilerden oluşan araştırmanın veri toplama araçları yarı yapılandırılırmış görüşme formu ve öğretmen adaylarının hazırladıkları dokümanlardır. Görüşme süreci 3 adet açık uçlu sorudan oluşturulan yarıyapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile yürütülmüştür. Doküman hazırlama süreci ise Tinkercad programının fen derslerinde kullanımına yönelik görüşlerin açıklanmasıyla tamamlanmıştır. Veri analizi aşamasında, nitel analiz yöntemlerinden içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analiz sonuçlarına göre, öğretmen adayları Tinkercad Programını kullanırken ve uygulama yaparken zorluk yaşamadıklarını belirtmiş ve programın fen derslerinde uygulanabilir olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. The main purpose of the study is to introduce Kodu Game Lab that is created by Microsoft as an ex... more The main purpose of the study is to introduce Kodu Game Lab that is created by Microsoft as an example for technology integration into learning process to pre-service science teachers with MAGDAIRE framework. The participants were in a special teaching methods course at a university in Turkey during the fall 2015 semester. Mix method research design was used in the study. Technical Proficiency of Kodu Concepts Test (TPKC-T) and semi-structured interview form were used to collect data. To compare the participants, an experimental group who attended the course designed with MAGDAIRE framework (n=18) and a control group who didn't study with MAGDAIRE framework (n=18) were organized. According to analysis results of data collected with TPKC-T, experimental group's post-test mean is significantly higher than control group's post-test mean. Based upon analysis of interview questions, it can be reported that PSTs in experimental group have more positive opinions towards Kodu and digital game based learning than PSTs' in control group.

Arastirma sonucunda ogrencilerin kavram haritalarinda konu ile ilgili anahtar kavramlari birbirleriyle iliskilendirmede ve kavramlar arasi baglantilar olusturmada zorlanirken, ayni kavramlara iliskin coktan secmeli test sorularini dogru cevapladiklari tespit edilmistir. Yapisal ve iliskisel puanlama yontemleri ile degerlendirilen kavram haritalarindan elde edilen puanlar, iki puanlama teknigi arasinda anlamli ve yuksek bir korelasyon oldugunu gostermistir.

Concept mapping has been used as a tool to carry out the argumentations about chemical concepts involved in general chemistry laboratory experiments between instructors and students, and among students. In the experimental group, students (N=41) performed their general chemistry laboratory experiments using individual, small and large group discussions based on students\' pre- and post- laboratory concept maps, whereas the control group students (N=43) performed their laboratory investigations using traditional approaches. This study aims to determine the effect of drama activities on the environmental knowledge, attit... more This study aims to determine the effect of drama activities on the environmental knowledge, attitude, and behaviors of preservice science teachers to be observed at the end of the drama activities within the framework of determined environmental issues. This is a pretest-posttest control group-designed study. The study was conducted with a total of 67 preservice teachers of which 33 (9 males, 24 females) constituted the experimental group and 34 (13 males, 21 females) constituted the control group. The participants studies in the Science Teaching Program of Primary Education Department in Gazi University's Gazi Education Faculty. To determine the environmental awareness of preservice teachers, the study created an Environmental Awareness Scale (EAS) which was composed of three different tests: Environmental Awareness Knowledge Test (EAKT), Environmental Awareness Attitude Test (EAAT), and Environmental Awareness Behavior Test (EABT). In the study, EAS was applied to the participants both as a pretest and a posttest. The results revealed that the drama method has a positive effect on the preservice teachers' environmental awareness. When the two groups were compared, it was found that there was a significant difference to the advantage of the experimental regarding the knowledge and behavior scores. However, the difference between the attitudes was not significant. In the light of the results, some suggestions were stated at the end of the study.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Maddenin Tanecikli Yapısı Ünite'sinin öğretiminde Jigsaw yönteminin 6.sını... more Bu araştırmanın amacı, Maddenin Tanecikli Yapısı Ünite'sinin öğretiminde Jigsaw yönteminin 6.sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen ve Teknoloji dersindeki akademik başarılarına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma, 2012-2013 öğretim yılında6. sınıfta okuyan 70 öğrencinin katılımı ile yürütüldü.Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan Maddenin Tanecikli Yapısı Akademik Başarı Testi (mABT) ve Jigsaw Görüş Ölçeği (JGÖ) kullanıldı. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 19 programında frekans ve yüzde, Independent Student t-testi ve ANCOVA testleri ile analiz edildi. Araştırmanın sonucunda, iki grubun akademik başarı seviyelerinde deney grubu lehine anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Ayrıca uygulanan öğretim yönteminin etki büyüklüğü (Cohen's d) 0.49 olarak buludu.. mABT son test olarak uygulandıktan 12 hafta sonra kalıcılık testi olarak tekrar uygulanmış ve deney grubu lehine anlamlı fark olduğu ayrıca Jigsawyönteminin geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerine göre daha etkili olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşıldı. Bunun yanında öğrencilerin işbirlikli öğrenme ile ilgili görüşlerinin de genellikle olumlu olduğu belirlendi.

The stochiometric protonation constants of (log10K1 and log10K2) some alanyl dipeptides (Ala–Tyr,... more The stochiometric protonation constants of (log10K1 and log10K2) some alanyl dipeptides (Ala–Tyr, Ala–Phe, Ala–Val, Ala–Leu, Ala–Ala and Ala–Met) were determined in binary mixtures of water with 1,4-dioxane and dimethylsulfoxide containing 20, 40 and 60 % (v/v), using a potentiometric titration method at 25 ± 0.1 °C and constant ionic strength of 0.10 mol·L−1 sodium chloride. The autoprotolysis constant values (Kap) of the media were also determined for each solvent mixture. The protonation constants of the dipeptides were calculated with the computer program BEST and selection of the best fit chemical models was based on the statistical parameters. The effects of the different amino acids bound to the alanine on the acidity of the alanyl dipeptides have been investigated. Finally, the results are discussed in terms of the effect of the solvent composition on the protonation constants.

In this study, macroscopic protonation constants of some a-amino acid (glycine, L-alanine, L-valine, L-leucine, L-phenylalanine, L-serine) and protonation constants of their methyl-and ethyl-esters in dimethyl sulfoxide-water mixtures (10-40 % dimethylsulfoxide by volume) were studied by potentiometric technique at 25.0 ± 0.1°C under a nitrogen atmosphere, and at ionic strength of 0.10 molÁL-1 sodium chloride. The protonation constants were calculated by using the Best computer program and the constants were evaluated for microscopic protonation constants of these a-amino acids. The protonation constants are discussed on the basis of solute-solvent interactions. The constants were influenced by changes in solvent composition. The dipolar ionic form, however, still greatly predominates, even in 40 % dimethyl sulfoxide. Two different methods based on two different sulfide preparation techniques were employed to make up the membrane of the electrode. The electrodes with the membranes prepared by these two methods did not show any appreciable difference in performance. The proposed electrode exhibited a Nernstian slope of 28.3 ± 0.2 mV/pPb over a wide working range from 1.0 10"' to 1.0 " 5. It has a fast response time (< 10 s), a satisfactory reproducibility and a relatively long lifetime (> a year) without any considerable divergence in potential. The selectivity coefficients of thirteen cations were determined by the fixed interference method and the electrode showed a fairly good selectivity to Pb 2+ ion in comparison to other common cations, namely Cd 2+ , Cu 2+ , Co 2+ , Fe 2+ , Ni 2+ , Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , Ba 2+ , Mn 2t , Zn 2+ and Sr 2+. It was found that only Ag + and Hg 2+ had an interfering effect. The influence of pH was studied and the potential response was independent of the pH of the test solutions in the range 3.5-6.0. It was successfully used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of lead ionr with EDTA to determine the lead contents of a standard lead solution and standard lead samples. In this study, the effects of STEM-based activities on students' motivation to learn science were... more In this study, the effects of STEM-based activities on students' motivation to learn science were investigated, and the opinions of students about the applied activities were also analyzed. The research group consists of a total of 98 eighth grade students studying in a state middle school in the 2018-2019 academic year. Six classes were included in the research, three experimental groups and three control groups were assigned randomly. The study process was carried out in a total of eight weeks while The Applications of Science. While teaching the experimental group with STEM activities, the control group was applied to the content of the curriculum of the science applications course. The groups were not affected by each other and equal lessons were given in all groups. The study was used as a semi-experimental design with the pretestposttest control group. In the research, "The Questionnaire for Motivation toward Science Learning" was used as a data collection tool, and "Semi-structured Interview Form" was used to determine the students' views on STEM activities during the application process of the experimental group students. The reliability coefficient of the scale used is 0.80. The semi-structured interview form was developed by the researchers. For the content validity of the questions in the form, ideas of two field education experts and one assessment and evaluation expert were taken. Analysis of the quantitative data collected from the questionnaire for motivation toward science learning made using the t-test for independent groups. Written answers of the students to the semistructured interview form were analyzed by content analysis, which is one of the qualitative analysis methods. As a result of the investigation, it decided that the motivation of the experimental group students was higher than that of the control group students. Additionally, students said that they had the pleasure while STEM activity applications.

Scientific literacy is associated with deep understanding of “Nature of Science [NOS] and scientific inquiry processes. At this point, teachers' adequate level content knowledge about the nature of science gain importance because of responsibility of their students' getting contemporary understanding of the nature of science. In this study, it is aimed to determine and compare the status of pre-service science teachers and Science and Technology teachers' content knowledge about the nature of science. Method: This study is a descriptive model in which qualitative research techniques are used. In 2009-2010 education year, 89 pre-service teachers who are studying in 4th class in one of the leading universities in science education in Turkey and 64 Science and Technology teachers who are working in small city in Turkey participated in the study. The situation of the knowledge of the participants about the nature of science is determined using “Views about Nature of Science (BDYG) questionnaire which is adapted to Turkish from “VOSTS (Views on Science-Technology-Society). In order to analyze the answers of participants to the questions in BDYG questionnaire, every questionnaire item placed under every question is encoded by 10 field experts as "Realistic ", "Has Merit" and "Naive ". After every item that pre-service and in-service science teachers chose in BDYG questionnaire is analyzed, frequencies and percentages for each item are calculated in accordance with the descriptive analysis. Results and Suggestion: According to the results of the analysis, pre-service science and in-service teachers conducted in research are found to have a certain level of content knowledge about the nature of science. However, that level of knowledge they have about the nature of science does not sufficiently represent a contemporary vision at an adequate level. Moreover, as one of the most important results of the research, widespread realistic and naive views of the in-service teachers resulted from BDYG questionnaire are quite parallel with pre-service teachers in same categories. The realistic views that participants have in high percentage and that are parallel to each other are on "tentativeness of scientific knowledge", "mistakes in scientific studies, “precision and uncertainty in scientific knowledge, “influence of society on scientist and “defining science. Besides, both participant groups have same level naive views on “characteristics of hypothesis, theories and laws, “the epistemological status of laws, hypotheses and theories and “the nature of scientific models issues. In this context, it is thought that both groups should take field education about nature of science. This education, for pre-service science teachers, can be through lessons related to science and nature of science which are given in their university education and for in service teachers, through in-service education and seminars from which every teacher can get benefit. Bu araştırmanın amacı 3D tasarım programlarından biri olan Tinkercad Programının kullanımıyla ilg... more Bu araştırmanın amacı 3D tasarım programlarından biri olan Tinkercad Programının kullanımıyla ilgili fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarına eğitim vermek ve adayların söz konusu programın fen derslerinde kullanımına yönelik görüşlerini belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, 2016-2017 bahar döneminde 7 hafta süren bir eğitim programı yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu bir devlet üniversitesinin son sınıfında öğrenim gören 40 fen bilgisi öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın deseni durum araştırması olarak belirlenmiştir. Nitel verilerden oluşan araştırmanın veri toplama araçları yarı yapılandırılırmış görüşme formu ve öğretmen adaylarının hazırladıkları dokümanlardır. Görüşme süreci 3 adet açık uçlu sorudan oluşturulan yarıyapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile yürütülmüştür. Doküman hazırlama süreci ise Tinkercad programının fen derslerinde kullanımına yönelik görüşlerin açıklanmasıyla tamamlanmıştır. Veri analizi aşamasında, nitel analiz yöntemlerinden içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analiz sonuçlarına göre, öğretmen adayları Tinkercad Programını kullanırken ve uygulama yaparken zorluk yaşamadıklarını belirtmiş ve programın fen derslerinde uygulanabilir olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. The main purpose of the study is to introduce Kodu Game Lab that is created by Microsoft as an ex... more The main purpose of the study is to introduce Kodu Game Lab that is created by Microsoft as an example for technology integration into learning process to pre-service science teachers with MAGDAIRE framework. The participants were in a special teaching methods course at a university in Turkey during the fall 2015 semester. Mix method research design was used in the study. Technical Proficiency of Kodu Concepts Test (TPKC-T) and semi-structured interview form were used to collect data. To compare the participants, an experimental group who attended the course designed with MAGDAIRE framework (n=18) and a control group who didn't study with MAGDAIRE framework (n=18) were organized. According to analysis results of data collected with TPKC-T, experimental group's post-test mean is significantly higher than control group's post-test mean. Based upon analysis of interview questions, it can be reported that PSTs in experimental group have more positive opinions towards Kodu and digital game based learning than PSTs' in control group.
