Crystals of (1) are triclinic and belong to space group Pī , with a 10.289(1), b 13.601(2), c 8.737(1) Ǻ, α 94.31(1), β 107.71(1), γ 79.56(1)°, V 1145.2 Ǻ3 and Z 2. The structure was solved by Patterson and Fourier methods and refined by using 3631 reflections to a final R value of 0.024 ( Rw 0.041). The five-coordinate square pyramidal complex is composed of apical terminal oxo [Mo-O(1) 1.658(2)Ǻ] and bidentate H2B(Me2C3N2H)2- and S2PPri2- ligands coordinated to molybdenum. Ferrocenium oxidation of (1) produces the mononuclear molybdenum(V) complex [{H2B(Me2C3N2H)2}MoVO(S2Ppri2)]+ ( e.p.r .: g 1.964, a(95,97Mo) 41.7×10-4cm-1, a(31P) 30.1×10-4 cm-1).

Use of broad spectrum non-selective herbicides is an efficient means to manage weeds. Availability of rice genotypes with complete tolerance against broad-spectrum non-selective herbicides is a pre-requisite for advocating use of such herbicides. In the present study, we developed an EMS induced rice mutant, 'HTM-N22', exhibiting tolerance to a broad spectrum herbicide, 'Imazethapyr', and identified the mutations imparting tolerance to the herbicide. We identified a stable and true breeding rice mutant, HTM-N22 (HTM), tolerant to herbicide, Imazethapyr, from an EMS-mutagenized population of approximately 100,000 M2 plants of an upland rice variety, Nagina 22 (N22). Analysis of inheritance of herbicide tolerance in a cross between Pusa 1656-10-61/HTM showed that this trait is governed by a single domi...

P... more Basmati rice is preferred internationally because of its appealing taste, mouth feel and aroma. Pusa Basmati 1121 (PB1121) is a widely grown variety known for its excellent grain and cooking quality in the international and domestic market. It contributes approximately USD 3 billion to India's forex earning annually by being the most traded variety. However, PB1121 is highly susceptible to bacterial blight (BB) disease. A novel BB resistance gene Xa38 was incorporated in PB1121 from donor parent PR114-Xa38 using a modified marker-assisted backcross breeding (MABB) scheme. Phenotypic selection prior to background selection was instrumental in identifying the novel recombinants with maximum recovery of recurrent parent phenome. The strategy was effective in delimiting the linkage drag to <0.5 mb upstream and <1.9 mb downstream of Xa38 with recurrent parent genome recovery upto 96.9% in the developed NILs. The NILs of PB1121 carrying Xa38 were compared with PB1121 NILs carryi...

The physical and spectral data of synthesized compounds are determined. The synthesized compounds have been screened for their anti-convulsant activity by MES method.
