For this purpose, it is important to define the concepts to be analyzed. According to the stakeholders theory, the term stakeholder, which started to be widely used in the business literature in1984, is typically defined as “persons or groups that affect, or are affected, by an organization’s decisions, policies, and operations” (Freeman, 1984).

This paper will address the relationship between the vision and the organization’s structure and ... more This paper will address the relationship between the vision and the organization’s structure and decision making process. This paper will illustrate how organizational vision shapes the organizational structure since the vision is a specific and unique image of the organization’s future (Tucker & Russell, 2004). In addition to this, the decision making process in relation with the organizational vision and structure will be analyzed, as well as the connections of these with the leadership behavior style as it applies to the organization’s development. This will be done presenting a brief review of the literature related to each topic and the discussion of the theories presented in it and the relationship among them. A conclusion will be presented at the end of the analysis .

This document analyzes different constructs of the leader’s role in the structure of organizations, both in virtual and co-located organizations, and how structure shapes organizations’ culture. The model developed by Karen Sobel Lojeski, the “Virtual Distance Leadership Model” will be describe and used to discuss its application in organizations and what role the leaders will have. Additionally, the diverse forces that compel the need for strategic, organizational change and the leader’s function in implementing culture, strategy, and structural transformation will be discussed. Finally, an analysis of the responsibility virtual leadership has had in the transformation of the virtual scenario of organizational structure will be conducted.

Ellis (2003) goes on to state that “Volunteer is a pay rate not a job title."
