Release notes, restructure index and add Jupyterlite sphinx by twiecki · Pull Request #14 · pymc-devs/pymc.io (original) (raw)
Agreed.
As I mentioned in #14 (comment), I think the landing page could have the following elements:
- pymc library key features section (already there) and has the link to the docs, we could optionally format it as a button too
- try the library (already there too)
- announcements (also there)
- (ecosystem, it could be interesting to highlight some libraries that build on top of pymc like bambi or exoplanet and also keep the separated page with all the libraries that depend on it, not sure if we want to add this already or wait a bit)
- case studies: we could add links to the most popular pymc example notebooks
- project wide activities (already there)
- support
The thread of the comment I linked has a bit more context and examples of similar websites and how they are structured which can serve as an inspiration.
The docs homepage can be much more simple and have links to getting started/learning page, api, examples and contributing, a bit like https://numpy.org/doc/stable/
None of this needs to happen necessarly here in this PR (and part can't), just writing everything down so I don't forget and we are all on the same page. If we make www.pymc.io
the main landing page we should also update the github org profile, the link at the pymc repo description that appears at the top right, the link on twitter, open collective, youtube?, numfocus website (I assume somewhere it has a link to the pymc website), etc
