Then, the solvent effects on the formation of NPANI-Ag-X were investigated. Most of the solvents used in the syntheses show ligand properties and form complexes with metal ions. According to their stability, these complexes can inhibit the reactions of metal ions. Polymer samples were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractions, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrometer, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometers, thermal analysis (TGA, DTA) and electrical conductivity measurements. The experimental results obtained show that some properties such as crystallinity, conductivity, metal contents and surface area of PANI polymers have changed with the addition of silver to the polymer. Studies have also shown that these properties can be controlled by the exchange of metal ions and solution media. It was observed that the solvents were effective in adding metal to the polymer and the amount of metal in the synthesized polymers varied depending on the solvent used.

The starting pyrrolidine derivatives were synthesized via a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction in 83-88% yield. The stereochemistry of one of these methyl 5,5-diphenyl-1-(thiazol-2-yl)pyrrolidine-2-carboxylate derivatives was characterized by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study and the acid dissociation constants of these compounds were determined. An antimicrobial screening was performed against different bacterial and fungal strains and against the M. tuberculosis H37Rv strain. Interesting antibacterial activity was observed for two compounds against the A. baumannii strain with MIC values of 31.25 µg/mL (Ampicillin: 125 µg/mL) and against the M. tuberculosis H37Rv stra...

The eggs have been collected at distances of 0-100 (Distance A), 100-200 (Distance B) and 200-300 m (Distance C) away from the edge of Tokat-Turhal road. The distance from roadway had no significant effect on egg Cu and Mn contents (P>0.05), although a significant effect on egg Cd and Pb content (P<0.05) was observed. There were no significant difference in egg shape index, egg shell thickness, breakage strength, egg albumin pH, albumin index, Haugh units and yolk index according to distance from the roadway (P> 0.05). Eggs obtained from distance A and B had significantly higher weight than obtained from distance C (P<0.05). Egg obtained from distance B had significantly lower egg shell colour scales than those of the other distances (P<0.01). And, egg yolk colour was showed a significant variation among the distances away from the roadway, and the highest yolk colour ...

The dissociation constants for the acids and the stability constants for calcium ion-ligand complexes, for comparison with the calcium ion-selective results, were separately determined with pH electrodes under the same conditions.

The stoichiometry and stability constant of metal complexes with 4-(3-methoxy-salicylideneamino)-... more The stoichiometry and stability constant of metal complexes with 4-(3-methoxy-salicylideneamino)-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid monosodium salt (H 2 L) and 4-(3-methoxysalicylideneamino)-5-hydroxy-6-(2,5dichlorophenylazo)-2,7-naphthalene disulfonic acid monosodium salt (H 2 L 1) were studied by potentiometric titration. The stability constants of H 2 L and H 2 L 1 Schiff bases have been investigated by potentiometric titration and u.v.-vis spectroscopy in aqueous media. The dissociation constants of the ligand and the stability constants of the metal complexes were calculated pH-metrically at 25°C and 0.1 M KCl ionic strength. The dissociation constants for H 2 L were obtained as 3.007, 7.620 and 9.564 and for H 2 L 1 , 4.000, 6.525, 9.473 and 10.423, respectively. The complexes were found to have the formulae [M(L) 2 ] for M = Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cu(II). The stability of the complexes follows the sequence: Zn(II) < Co(II) < Cu(II) < Ni(II). The high stability of H 2 L 1 towards Cu(II) and Ni(II) over the other ions is remarkable, in particular over Cu(II), and may be of technological interest. Concentration distribution diagram of various species formed in solution was evaluated for ligands and complexes. The formation of the hydrogen bonds may cause this increased stability of ligands. The pH-metric data were used to find the stoichiometry, deprotonation and stability constants via the SUPERQUAD computer program.

A ... more One of the most important sources of trace metals in agricultural soils is mineral fertilizer. A large quantity of fertilizers containing trace metals has ben used under farming systems in Turkey and world since years. Inthis research, cadmium (Cd) lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn) concentrations in sixteen solid fertilizer samples, which produced in different fertilizers factories in Turkey, were analysed and trace metals contamination risk was evaluated in Turkish soils. Phosphorus fertilizers contain trace metals at concentration above those found in all other fertilizers, and ammonium nitrates and urea fertilizers contained the lowest levels of trace metals. Trace metals concentrations, except Cd, in fertilizers were lower than the median soil trace metals values. Taking into consideration the calcareous and basic soil properties in Turkish soils, trace metal toxicity due to fertilizers use is not expected to be a major problem at present....
