tribal structure in the perception of the people living there
in Van province and its effect on political preferences.
Since associations affiliated with tribes have been opened
in Van in recent years and their relations with the political
institution have intensified as a result of the tribal
members who used to reside in the villages now residing
in the center of Van, it has become important to conduct
a study based on field research in the relevant field. After
reading the literature related to the research, the research
is sahped through the questions “What is the approach to
the tribal structure in Van today and what is its effect on
voting preferences?”. The research is a qualitative study
based on semi-structured interviews and using grounded
theory design. The data of the research was collected through
interviews with people living in Van province and
its districts and political party officials in the center of
Van. The data of the research were analyzed in the context
of the principles of grounded theory. As a result of
the study, it was determined that the tribal structure is a
visible phenomenon in Van, but its effect on political preferences
is low. Some of the people interviewed for the
research said that tribal affiliation is necessary in Van;
Some of them stated that there is no need for such a affiliation
today. Thus, a situation of coexistence of conflicting
statements emerged in the findings obtained during
the interviews. Based on this, the concept of dialectics of
belonging was reached in the context of Anselm Strauss
and Barney Glaser’s approaches to grounded theory.

The main question of the study is: "What have been the political, religious, cultural and social dimensions of these migrations?" A literature review was conducted around this basic question and the data obtained were analyzed. Christians who have lived with Kurds for centuries in both Hakkari (especially Nastorian) and Northern Iraq have been subjected to migration many times in history. In this study, it was found that the Christians who migrated from Hakkari to Iran and then to Iraq in 1915, especially the Nastorians, migrated to European countries with the effect of political instability in the region. These instabilities are: The Iran-Iraq War (1980-1888), the Gulf War, the genocide initiated by Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on the Kurds also affected Christians. In addition, the American invasion of Iraq (2003) and the terror launched by ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) in 2011 are other events that have influenced the migration of Christians. The study data were obtained by taking only the parts related to Christian migration from the works written on Iraq. When the literature on the subject was reviewed, although there was no data on Christian migration in particular, the information in the works that touched on Christian migrations without entering into the content was collected and translated. Both academic platforms and Google browsing did not find studies that only touched on Christian immigration in Iraq after 1980. In this

The main question of the study is: "What is the place of the Kurdish migration in Hakkâri that took place in 1915 in the memory of those who witnessed that period?" The study data were obtained through semi-structured interviews conducted in Hakkâri and its districts, and in the Kurdish Region of Northern Iraq within the framework of this basic question. The data obtained in the study were collected from the stories that the interviewers heard from their ancestors. The stories have been transferred from one generation to another and they have reached the present day. Since this migration includes aspects such as structure-actor, identity, discourse, and social reality, the analysis of the research data was conducted through constructivism or social construction theory. As a result of the Nestorian and Kurdish conflicts that took place in Hakkâri in 1915, both groups of people had to say goodbye to their homes and old habits and to migrate. Especially Russians, who began to occupy the regions such as Van province, caused the Kurds in Hakkâri to migrate to Iraqi lands. In the study, it was found that the Kurdish migration that took place in Hakkâri in 1915 caused negative situations such as hunger and misery, and Kurds who could return to Hakkâri since 1917 tried to hold on to life. As a result, as in every forced migration, social traumas have been experienced during the migration, which is the subject of this study.

In the First World War, after the British occupied Iraq, they tried to dominate this region in terms of their imperialist policies. Mosul was separated from the Ottoman Empire in 1924 with the support of the League of Nations and a new order was created here. Mosul has historically been a center for Sunni Muslims, mostly Kurds and Turkmen. The aim of the study is to reveal that not only the natural resources or material aspects of the region, but also the cultural and historical aspects are important when the Mosul Question is discussed in international treaties and conventions such as the Lausanne Conference and the Brussels line. In this study, the Mosul Issue has been analyzed in the context of constructivism theory under Turkish and British theses. Constructivism theory argues that ...

With the British occupation of Iraq in the First World War, the peoples in Iraq got their share of these promises. The British also had a dualist policy towards the Kurds. In this sense, Sheikh Mahmut Berzinci, who lived in Sulaymaniyah against the dualist policies pursued by the British during the First World War invading Iraq, started a revolt in 1919. Sheikh Mahmud's aim was to give the Iraqi Kurds an independent status without falling under the domination of the British and Arabs.
