This community was created on January 8, 2005 after 
princessshannon discovered the lack of Shawn Michaels communities on Live Journal. This community's purpose is to share pictures of the man they call the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. If you're a fan of Shawn, male or female, don't hesitate to join! Anything Shawn related is welcome; pictures, news, icons, graphics, you name it! So what are you waiting for, join!
1. Posting is open to all members. Have something HBK related you wanna share? Then post!
2. Not all entries require a picture. I know that most 'daily' communities require you post a picture in any entry to make it legal, but I think that's a silly rule. Not everyone has uploading capabilities and I don't want to inhibit anyone from posting Shawn related stuff. So picture or not, share your Shawn goodies!
3. Never hotlink! Hotlinking is when you post a picture from someone else's server. It steals bandwidth and is a major no-no. This goes for my posted pictures as well as pictures you may get from other websites. Photobucket.com offers free photo hosting. Just save, upload, and link! It's that simple!
4. Always remember to credit! This includes pictures and graphics. If someone scanned or capped a photo you are posting, credit them. If you are posting someone else's icons, credit them. It will save you a headache in the future, trust me :)
5. Batches of pictures must go under a LJ-cut. When posting more than 1 photo or if you are posting a super huge photo, please use a cut!
6. Use normal size text!!!! I can't tell you how much this aggravates me! Not everyone has their text formatted the same way so I just see a jumble of words and I know I'm not the only one. If you want to enlarge a title or a short phrase here and there, be my guest. I do it for articles, myself. But if your entire entry is size 22 font, it's getting deleted.
7. Spoilers go under a LJ-cut! Be aware of the fact that some countires don't air RAW until days later. If you are unsure about what is a spoiler, put it under a cut anyway. It can never hurt :)
8. Tags are for my use only! I tag each of my daily entries with certain things (dvd, raw, ppv, etc.) PLEASE do not use them for your entries. I'm going to change this in the future once I work out a system but for now, keep away from my tags :)
9. Advertising of other Shawn related communities or websites is permitted but only do it once. Multiple entries will be deleted. Be sure to include a link to your community or site as well, otherwise what's the point, right? :) FYI: Shawn related includes general WWE, graphics, videos, fan fiction etc. as long as Shawn is featured in said graphics, videos, fan fiction.
10. Respect the wrestlers and each other. This means no derogatory comments of any kind will permitted. Repeat offenders will be banned. I just want this to be a friendly place for everyone, you know?

Shawn Michaels oozes confidence as a wrestling icon that has and can go move-for-move and fist-for-fist with the best and beat nearly all in his path. Known for his outrageous antics and ring attire, the “Heartbreak Kid” (HBK) is the cool, cocky and quintessential show stopper performing in some of the most memorable wrestling classics over his brilliant WWE career.
Making female fans scream in adoration and earning the respect of WWE Superstars and fans, HBK is just as well known for his wrestling skills as he is notorious for his verbal jousting. Using his quick wit and provocative nature on the microphone, Michaels can incite his adversaries beyond belief. However, Michaels more than anything else has shown through his dedication and passion that he is perhaps one of the most courageous WWE Superstars to ever grace the ring, taking a great deal punishment and still being able to rally back and score a victory.
Unanimously considered one of the greatest wrestlers to ever compete, the flamboyant Michaels has become a cornerstone of RAW over the past several years… a journey that started as a boyhood dream to be the best of the best – the WWE Champion.
Initially making his mark in sports entertainment as a tag team known as the Rockers with Marty Jannetty in the 1980s, HBK would undergo a virtual metamorphous. The easy going Rocker Shawn Michaels turned into the overly confident bad boy of WWE the “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels. Prancing to the ring to “Sexy Boy” Michaels now sported a studded vest and chaps and broken heart attire as Sensational Sherri’s boy toy.
As a Bret Hart-Michaels war escalated in the late 90s, HBK evolved, forming a new faction called Degeneration X (DX) with co-founder Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Triple H). Popularizing the crotch chop, the outspoken, too hot for the censors DX created controversy where ever they went. Undoubtedly, HBK and Triple H helped to usher in an era of attitude along with their muscular bodyguard Chyna. Rude, crude and lewd, DX didn’t play by the rules as nothing was too taboo for this clique to say or do.
HBK would go into retirement after losing the WWE Championship in 1998 to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIV. By this point, Michaels’ back injuries had taken their toll. At the urging of his physicians, Michaels would regrettably retire and hang his trunks up. Or so we thought…
After the devastating loss to “Stone Cold” and a career ending injury, Michaels retired and started a family. However, something profound happened to the once brash and obnoxious WWE Superstar – he found faith. As documented on WWE Confidential, Michaels changed from the angst filled co-founder of DX to a man standing for what he believed in with strong traditional values and principles.
It was also during this four year period that the legend of Shawn Michaels grew. The new crop of WWE Superstars marveled at HBK’s greatness while one man’s anger and hunger to end the question in his mind of who was the better man grew into obsession. This man was Shawn’s best friend for nearly a decade, Triple H. After several confrontations and violent attacks, Michaels finally returned to action at SummerSlam 2002 in courageous fashion to face his protégé - the now diabolical mastermind Triple H.
D-Generation X has re-united, and it seems as if they are better than ever. Just three weeks after suffering a knee injury at the hands of the Squad, HBK returned on the June 12 Raw. As Triple H was facing the Squad 5 on 1, Michaels made a surprise return by attacking Mitch. After a brief staredown with Mr. McMahon, HBK charged the ring to help The Game fight off the remaining members of the Squad. When the ring was clear, the two men exchanged a high five and did their signature DX crotch chop in the direction of the WWE Chairman.

When he’s paired with Triple H, Shawn Michaels is known for his rebel antics outside the ring, and his ferociousness inside of it. While Triple H was out on personal business during the July 24 edition of Raw, HBK felt what it was like to get run over by the Samoan Bulldozer. During his match with Jonathan Coachman — which the Chairman set up — Michaels not only manhandled Coachman, but all five members of the Spirit Squad as well. What he didn’t anticipate was that Umaga, the undefeated Samoan monster, was lurking behind him waiting to attack.
After the beating, Michaels was left in the ring struggling to catch his breath, and he needed assistance getting to the locker room.
At Vengeance, the Spirit Squad fell to the powerhouse that is DX in a 5-on-2 Handicap Match, so the McMahon men decided to take things into their own hands the next night on Raw. While it was supposed to be DX vs. The McMahons, DX instead came out and impersonated them with Triple H playing the WWE Chairman and HBK as Shane-o-Mac. Later, after telling the McMahons that they were full of crap, DX had actual human waste dumped on them (and the Spirit Squad as well) as they stood on the entrance stage.
While the odds continually seem stacked against HBK in his war with the McMahons and the Spirit Squad, he has made a career out of overcoming the odds and rising to the top.
Whether you know him as the Showstopper, the Main Event or the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels is one of the most successful Superstars in WWE history. Throughout a nearly 20-year career in WWE, HBK has done it all, from winning the Royal Rumble to being a multiple-time WWE Champion. Never one to back down from a challenge no matter the odds, HBK has shown that he is one of the most dedicated and courageous WWE Superstars to ever grace the ring; he is unanimously considered one of the greatest wrestlers to ever compete and has become one of the cornerstones of Raw.
