Cassandra often refers to literary characters, authors, poets, and books in her journal. What does this say about Cassandra? Does this make you relate to her as a lover of language, or does it give her an air of superiority? What do you think was Dodie Smith's motivation for including these references? Discuss why you feel the way that you do.
