Changing society (original) (raw)

What we stand for

We bring non-religious people together to campaign for a more ethical and rational society, in six broad policy areas.

Freedom of expression

Including our work to end blasphemy laws, censorship, and on other free speech issues

Freedom of choice

Our work for individual rights and freedoms, including eliminating discrimination

Other animals

Our work on animal welfare laws, including calls for farming reforms

We work across the UK and internationally, including through advocacy at the UN Human Rights Council, to advance freedom of thought, choice, and expression for all.

Think for yourself, act for everyone

Humanists value free thinking and freedom of choice so everyone can live in a fair and equal society. For 130 years, we’ve spoken out for the equal dignity and humanity of every person in society. We have always been on the side of greater human equality within a framework of legal human rights for all.

Our campaigns

Persecution of humanists

We want to end international persecution of the non‑religious, including through apostasy and blasphemy laws used to silence, kill, and oppress
