A HISTORY: Named successor to Coco Chanel in 1983, the German born Karl Lagerfeld migrated to Paris at the age of 14 to design and soon ended up a top creative director. Mr. Lagerfeld has been the only person able to take on the legacy of Chanel. He has stayed true to every rule of thumb that Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel stood by when it comes to designing classic cuts with classic fabrics and colors, while also bringing it to a new level for the modern woman of today. Karl Lagerfeld could be considered a reniassance man for being highly educated, fluent in 4 languages, an astounding illustrator and photographer, and for maintaining Fendi, his own label; Lagerfeld Gallery, and of course, the only remaining original fashion house in the world; Chanel. Karl has also worked with and for other design companies such as Pierre Balmain at 17, Jean Patou, Krizia, Charles Jourdan, Valentino, and Chloe.-JJ
