По мере роста угроз безопасности в Европе и миграционных вызовов стала более остро осознаваться п... more По мере роста угроз безопасности в Европе и миграционных вызовов стала более остро осознаваться проблема сохранения христианской идентичности европейского континента, в том числе через защиту христиан на Ближнем Востоке. Одновременно обострились отношения России и Запада. Российское православие предложило свой ответ на глобальные вызовы. Автор проанализировал роль РПЦ и эффективность использования ее потенциала в рамках внешней политики России. В статье используются методы исторического и социологического анализа выступлений и действий представителей Русской церкви и органов государственной власти. Автор делает вывод, что Русская церковь постепенно переходила от националистической антизападной риторики к европейскому вектору своей политики, где большую роль стали играть наднациональные интересы РПЦ и права и свободы религиозных объединений в секулярном обществе.

The author analyzes the reaction of the Russian Orthodox Church to the social problems existing i... more The author analyzes the reaction of the Russian Orthodox Church to the social problems existing in Russian society. The system of social service began to revive within the Orthodox Church only in the 2000s. Ordinary parishes started to play a big role as centers of cultural and spiritual life. The examples of Orthodox rehabilitation projects demonstrate that the formation of the church bureaucratic system of social work is combined with the creation of the all-Church mechanisms of social service and is based not only on the administrative norms. The educational activity of the Synodal department for social service helps to train specialists in different spheres that are required by the state and non-government funds. Volunteer projects attracted a lot of new people to the Church, set new aims and goals before Church activists and clergy, thus changing the Church itself, as well as the society around.

The social responsibility of religious organizations in modern conditions is reflected in a varie... more The social responsibility of religious organizations in modern conditions is reflected in a variety of activities carried out by religious institutions and differ depending on both the confessional affiliation of these institutions and the specific structural territorial unit where they take О Б Щ Е СТ В О И Р Е Ф О Р М Ы 74 УПРАВЛЕНЧЕСКОЕ КОНСУЛЬТИРОВАНИЕ. № 3. 2023 place. The presented work is devoted to a detailed analysis of the peculiarities of the manifestation of one of the directions of social responsibility of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark (ELCD), associated with minimizing the consequences of COVID-19 on the example of its individual dioceses. The dioceses characterized by the highest proportion of adherents in the population structure (Diocese of Viborg, Ribe, Aalborg and Lolland-Faster) were selected to clearly reflect the trends taking place. The subject of the study is the social activities of the ELCD to mitigate the consequences of COVID-19 for parishioners, the features of the implementation of which are considered on the example of structural units at the regional level. The article substantiates the increased importance of the ELCD in the development of the region, since the designated institution largely assumes the social obligations of the state (duplicates several functions) in connection with the risks of the spread of coronavirus infection. To achieve the goal, methods of analysis of factual and economic-statistical information, comparative comparison were used. The experience of a religious organization in dealing with the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic is of interest to the public, government bodies and authorities, as well as religious organizations in other countries. The results of the study can be useful in developing a strategy for the development of state-religious relations in Russia, where there are trends of strengthening the social and economic role of religious organizations.

Religion and Forced Displacement in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia
This chapter analyses the role of the Russian Orthodox Church in the context of forced displaceme... more This chapter analyses the role of the Russian Orthodox Church in the context of forced displacement in Russia. The author has used historical and sociological methods and material to observe the trends of migration and waves of forced displaced people from the Soviet period till the 2000s. It analyses the state of church-state relations in Russia, the role of religion in civil society, the specifics of religious belonging, and the historical perspective and social activity of the Orthodox Church. The author concludes that the support of forcibly displaced people by the Russian Orthodox Church became effective in the context of the transformation of the Church itself, and under the conditions of religious diversity and competition with other Christian confessions in Russia.

The article analyzes the ideological contradictions of liberal democracy, or neoliberalism (antii... more The article analyzes the ideological contradictions of liberal democracy, or neoliberalism (antiidentism), and traditionalism (identism) on the example of Christian churches. Antiindentism considers traditional religiosity to be hostile: it should be reformed to conform to neoliberal values, and it should be banished from public space. At the same time, antiidentism does not want to eliminate religion, because it is one of the identities that have to be redone like other human identites. The article examines anti-Christian movements (like the “Black Lives Matter”) as well as conservative and liberal movements within various confessions. The authors emphasize that the antiidentist demands are based on the Christian values of respect for any person, for women and men, regardless of anything, for humane methods of raising children, mercy for any categories of people, regardless of their sexual orientation, etc. On the other hand, the demands of antiidentists go far beyond Christian principles and even common sense (not to quote inconvenient passages of the Bible, to change the rules of church life and the appointment of clergy). The article proposes a classification of confessions by direction and by territorial feature, depending on specifics of divisions based on the attitude to antiidentism (American Churches, the Catholic Church, Lutherans and Anglicans as well as diversity of Orthodox churches that are also touched by the antiidentist wave). The authors conclude that the Christian churches, despite the existence of liberal factions, are primarily a traditionalist force in modern politics. Because of fundamental ideological differences, the consolidation of diverse Christian forces is a difficult task. However, there is some progress in this direction. Evangelicals, traditional Catholics, who make up the majority of the Catholic Church, as well as the majority of Orthodox Christians, are a serious political and, what perhaps more important, ideological force.

перспективам свободы совести после принятия антитеррористиче-
ского пакета, больше известного как закон «Яровой», который поста-
вил под жесткий контроль миссионерскую деятельность религиозных
объединений. В связи с этим анализируется сложившаяся судебная
практика, парадоксы российского восприятия религии в публичной
сфере, мифы и страхи российского общества.
