This article explain the characteristics of the human remains located in a covacha and in two rock shelters of the Cerro La Yaqui hill in the municipality of Sahuaripa, Mulatos Region, Sonora. Aspects about the funerary practices of the ancient óob (pimas) , in addition to its biological characteristics that define this group and that settled in that place between the 1300 and 1400 A.D. The analysis results of the stable isotopes of carbon (δ13C) and nitrogen (δ15N) allowed an approach to the diet of these individuals. The values of the oxygen isotopes (δ18O) allow us to hypothesize the possible non-local origin of one of the recovered individuals. On the other hand, the DNA analysis suggests genetic affinity, via the paternal route, between some of the recovered individuals, which possibly indicates a type of organization where kinship is established via the paternal route.

In other hand La Cueva presents a greater quantity of gather food: nuts, acorns, cooked agave, yucca datil and a lesser amount of corn, beans and squash, besides the tabular knives extraordinary quantity used mainly for the agave leaves harvest. These differences are the first indication that we can observe clear differences in both cliff dwelling use. If the analysis scale is increased we can noted that La Cueva had a ritual use by the association with the rock art, the architectural layout and the natural setting could form a liminal space destined exclusively for women.
