In order to reflect the integration of the teachers' content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, an... more In order to reflect the integration of the teachers' content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and technology usage skills to the class context and to provide the expected outputs for the program's purposes, it is needed to be revealed the different dimensions of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). In this study, it was aimed to investigate the teacher training programmes related to pre-service science teachers' TPACK. This study was designed as a cross-sectional study. In the 2015-2016 academic year, a total of 269 pre-service teachers (73 of them from 1st grade, 73 of them from 2nd grade, 87 of them from 3rd and 36 of them from 4th grade students) attending Science Education Department participated in this study. As a data collection tool, 7 subscales of "Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Scale of Pre-Service Teachers"; namely, technology knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, technological content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, and technological pedagogical content knowledge were used. According to the results, as the class level of preservice teacher increases, their level of technological pedagogical content knowledge increases as well. Moreover, there is a significant difference on behalf of pre-service teachers at the 1st grade in all dimensions of technological pedagogical content knowledge scale.

Bu bakımdan araştırmanın gelecekte özel yetenekli öğrencilerin kariyer planlaması üzerine yapılacak çalışmalara ışık tutacağı düşünülmektedir. Mevcut araştırma betimsel araştırma yaklaşımına dayalı bibliyometrik haritalama yöntemi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda ilgili alan yazın taraması, farklı disiplinlerin yer aldığı dergileri endeksleyen SCOPUS veri tabanından yararlanılarak 24.08.2022 tarihinde 09:00-19:00 (GMT +3) saatleri arasında “Gifted*” or “Talented” and “Career” anahtar kavramlarıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. At the same time, within the context of the study, it was aimed to determine the factors playing a role in the construction of their concepts of space. The study employed the special case study design, one of the descriptive methods. The study was conducted in the spring term of the 2016-2017 school year and the sampling of the study is comprised of the students attending a private secondary school in a city located in the western region of Turkey. In the study, a data collection tool including four open-ended questions developed by the researchers to determine the students’ mental models of the “space” was used. The purpose of the current study is to conduct developmental comparison of the middle school stud... more The purpose of the current study is to conduct developmental comparison of the middle school students’ misconceptions about the concepts of astronomy. The sampling of the study is comprised of middle school students attending a private school located in the west of Turkey. A total of 144 students participated in the study. In order to determine the students’ perceptions of the concepts of astronomy, a data collection tool consisting of five open-ended questions was developed by the researchers. The data collected through this data collection tool was subjected to content analysis; on the basis of the analysis of the students’ responses, codes were determined and on the basis of these codes, themes were constructed. The results are presented as percentages and frequencies. When the findings of the study were generally evaluated, it was concluded that the students have misconceptions about the concepts of astronomy.

In line with the fast advance seen in technology, the use of technological resources in education... more In line with the fast advance seen in technology, the use of technological resources in education has come to play an important role in terms of drawing students' attention to the subjects studied in the classroom so that success increases and the knowledge is better internalized. This study was carried out to determine the attitudes of the pre-service teachers from the department of elementary education towards the effects of use of teaching materials; overhead projector and projector; on learning. The study was carried out with 184 senior pre-service teachers, 32 of whom are from the department of science teaching, 70 are from the department of classroom teaching, 46 are from the department of preschool teaching and 36 are from the department of social studies teaching. The data obtained from the questionnaire used in the study were analyzed through SPSS program package. Independent t-test was used to test whether there is a significant correlation between the pre-service teachers' responses and gender and their background. In addition, One-Way ANOVA was used to test whether there is a significant correlation between student teacher' responses and their departments and some differences are detected with regards to the effects of using overhead projector and projector on learning. According to the findings of the study, the students are found to believe that the use of overhead projector and projector brings some kind of change and variety to the teaching, saves teaching from being monotonous, and contribute to establishing lively, colorful and smooth setting for teaching and learning.

The aim of this study was to examine the candidates' awareness level of technological terms and to examine the effect of gender, grade level and family income on this awareness. Research Methods: The sample of the current study comprises 212 students. The collected quantitative data were analyzed by using frequencies, percentages and Chisquare test. In this study, our concern is to determine stress levels and indications of teacher candidate students studying at 4th grade of any department of Education Faculties in Turkey Universities that are going to enter KPSS. The data is obtained in 2008-2009 education period from 3869 students studying at Physical Education Departments of Education Faculties and Vocational Schools in 42 Public Universities. Bu arastirmada ortaokul ogrencilerinin fen tabanli girisimcilik egilimlerinin; cinsiyet, sinif du... more Bu arastirmada ortaokul ogrencilerinin fen tabanli girisimcilik egilimlerinin; cinsiyet, sinif duzeyi, fen bilimleri dersi not ortalamasi ve fen bilimleri dersinden proje odevi alma durumu degiskenlerine gore tespit edilmesi amaclanmistir. Tarama modelinde yurutulen bu arastirmanin orneklemini 2018-2019 Egitim-Ogretim Yilinda Mugla Ili Marmaris ilcesine bagli bir devlet ortaokulunda ogrenim goren 126 kiz 119 erkek olmak uzere toplam 245 ogrenciden olusmaktadir. Verilerin toplanmasinda “Ortaokul Ogrencilerine Yonelik Fen Tabanli Girisimcilik Olcegi” kullanilmistir. Veriler, normal dagilim gostermediginden parametrik olmayan istatistiklerden Mann Whitney U testi ve Kruskal-Wallis H testi ile cozumlenmistir. The population of the present study consists of all the 4th-grade students in the secondary schools in the city of Mugla in the 2012-2013 school year while the sample consists of 569 middle school fourth grade students. As the data collection tools, “The Problem-Solving Inventory”, “The Science Process Skills Test”, “The Kolb Learning Styles Inventory” and a student information form were used. The data were analyzed by using a variety of statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, One way ANOVA and Chi-Square test. Sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitabında bulunan etkinliklerin, fen bilimleri öğretim programındaki kaz... more Sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitabında bulunan etkinliklerin, fen bilimleri öğretim programındaki kazanımlarla ilişkisini ve etkinliklerin yeterliliğini incelemek amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanan 2016-2017 yılı 6. Sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitabında yer alan tüm etkinlikler incelenmiştir. Ders kitabında 8 ünite 4 konu alanı bulunmaktadır. Fen bilimleri dersi öğretim programında bu ünitelere ilişkin 52 kazanım ve 52 etkinlik yer almaktadır. Bu etkinliklerin kazanımlara uygunluğuna ve yeterliliğine ilişkin bir inceleme yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistik kullanılmıştır. 2016-2017 Eğitim-Öğretim yılı 6. Sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitabında yer alan etkinliklerin sayısı ile Fen Bilimleri Öğretim Programı'ndaki kazanım sayısının birbiri ile örtüştüğü görülmüştür. Ancak bu durum her kazanıma ait bir etkinlik yer aldığı anlamına gelmemektedir. Bazı kazanımlara ait birden fazla etkinlik var iken, bazı kazanımlara ait etkinliğin olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye İstatistiki Bölgelerinin farklı birimlerinde öğrenim görmekte olan f... more Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye İstatistiki Bölgelerinin farklı birimlerinde öğrenim görmekte olan fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının Evrensel Fen Okuryazarlığı'nın hangi düzeyde olduğu; evrensel fen okuryazarlık düzeyine istatistiki bölge birimleri, cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyi değişkenlerinin etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırma, 2015-2016 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılı Bahar Yarıyılında Türkiye'nin 12 farklı istatistiki bölge birimlerinde yer alan 20 üniversitenin eğitim fakültelerinde öğrenim gören 1088 birinci sınıf ve 920 dördüncü sınıf olmak üzere, toplam 2008 (Kadın:1564; Erkek:444) fen bilgisi öğretmen adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Elde edilen bulgularda, tüm boyutlarda fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının evrensel fen okuryazarlık düzeyi yüksek bulunmuştur. Ayrıca kadın öğretmen adaylarının erkeklere göre, 4. sınıf öğretmen adaylarının da 1. sınıflara göre evrensel fen okuryazarlık düzeyinin daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Diğer taraftan Evrensel Fen Okuryazarlık düzeyi Türkiye istatistiki bölge birimlerine göre farklılık oluşturduğu görülmüştür.

Tarama modelinde yurutulen bu arastirmanin orneklemini 2018-2019 Egitim-Ogretim Yilinda Mugla Ili Marmaris ilcesine bagli bir devlet ortaokulunda ogrenim goren 126 kiz 119 erkek olmak uzere toplam 245 ogrenciden olusmaktadir. Verilerin toplanmasinda “Ortaokul Ogrencilerine Yonelik Fen Tabanli Girisimcilik Olcegi” kullanilmistir. Veriler, normal dagilim gostermediginden parametrik olmayan istatistiklerden Mann Whitney U testi ve Kruskal-Wallis H testi ile cozumlenmistir. Arastirma sonucunda, ortaokul ogrencilerinin fen tabanli girisimcilik egilimlerinin olumlu oldugu belirlenmistir. Ogrencilerin fen tabanli girisimcilik egilimlerinin; cinsiyet, sinif duzeyi, not ortalamasi ve fenden proje odevi alma durumuna gore farklilasmadigi sonucuna ulasilmistir.

Calisma Mugla Sitki Kocman Universitesi Egitim Bilimleri Enstitusu’nde 2013-2014 Egitim-Ogretim yilinda ogrenim gormekte olan (Fen Bilgisi, Turkce, Sosyal Bilgiler, Ingilizce ve Almanca Egitimi ile Ozel Egitim ve Egitim Programlari ve Ogretimi) ogrenciler ile gerceklestirilmistir (N= 38). The population of the present study consists of all the 4th-grade students in the secondary schools in the city of Mugla in the 2012-2013 school year while the sample consists of 569 middle school fourth grade students. As the data collection tools, “The Problem-Solving Inventory”, “The Science Process Skills Test”, “The Kolb Learning Styles Inventory” and a student information form were used. The data were analyzed by using a variety of statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, One way ANOVA and Chi-Square test. Sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitabında bulunan etkinliklerin, fen bilimleri öğretim programındaki kaz... more Sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitabında bulunan etkinliklerin, fen bilimleri öğretim programındaki kazanımlarla ilişkisini ve etkinliklerin yeterliliğini incelemek amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanan 2016-2017 yılı 6. Sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitabında yer alan tüm etkinlikler incelenmiştir. Ders kitabında 8 ünite 4 konu alanı bulunmaktadır. Fen bilimleri dersi öğretim programında bu ünitelere ilişkin 52 kazanım ve 52 etkinlik yer almaktadır. Bu etkinliklerin kazanımlara uygunluğuna ve yeterliliğine ilişkin bir inceleme yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistik kullanılmıştır. 2016-2017 Eğitim-Öğretim yılı 6. Sınıf fen bilimleri ders kitabında yer alan etkinliklerin sayısı ile Fen Bilimleri Öğretim Programı'ndaki kazanım sayısının birbiri ile örtüştüğü görülmüştür. Ancak bu durum her kazanıma ait bir etkinlik yer aldığı anlamına gelmemektedir. Bazı kazanımlara ait birden fazla etkinlik var iken, bazı kazanımlara ait etkinliğin olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye İstatistiki Bölgelerinin farklı birimlerinde öğrenim görmekte olan f... more Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye İstatistiki Bölgelerinin farklı birimlerinde öğrenim görmekte olan fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının Evrensel Fen Okuryazarlığı'nın hangi düzeyde olduğu; evrensel fen okuryazarlık düzeyine istatistiki bölge birimleri, cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyi değişkenlerinin etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırma, 2015-2016 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılı Bahar Yarıyılında Türkiye'nin 12 farklı istatistiki bölge birimlerinde yer alan 20 üniversitenin eğitim fakültelerinde öğrenim gören 1088 birinci sınıf ve 920 dördüncü sınıf olmak üzere, toplam 2008 (Kadın:1564; Erkek:444) fen bilgisi öğretmen adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Elde edilen bulgularda, tüm boyutlarda fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının evrensel fen okuryazarlık düzeyi yüksek bulunmuştur. Ayrıca kadın öğretmen adaylarının erkeklere göre, 4. sınıf öğretmen adaylarının da 1. sınıflara göre evrensel fen okuryazarlık düzeyinin daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Diğer taraftan Evrensel Fen Okuryazarlık düzeyi Türkiye istatistiki bölge birimlerine göre farklılık oluşturduğu görülmüştür.

This requires effective planning of how technology should be integrated into the teacher training curriculums of education faculties and continuous revision of this plan. In this regard, the purpose of the current study is to investigate the pre-service classroom teachers’ technological pedagogical content knowledge in relation to grade level and gender variables. The current study employing the survey model was conducted on 136 first and third year students from the Classroom Teacher Education Department of the Education Faculty at Mugla Sitki Kocman University in the fall term of 2015-2016 academic year.
