Faculties in developing economies are left bewildered and pressured how to enhance research output. Humanities and social sciences particularly suffer between quantitative bibliographic data versus research quality. An icebreaking model using a case study of humanities faculty in Thailand illustrates how to enhance collaboration among faculty members who are knowledge workers and management. The model captures knowledge to identify six discontinuities between sample groups. By focusing on the managerial implications of six key barriers, discussion illustrates how the model enhances collaboration, generates shared vision and improves managerial strategies in education.

This paper aims to tackle university dropout rates in the first year of university at a private university in Thailand. The paper argues that general education courses provide an ideal platform from which to launch a nurturing program aimed at curtailing student dropout rates. Two theories of personal mastery and mastery learning are investigated as potential approaches to designing a nurturing program that can be used to assist students in their transition from high school to university, and in turn reduce the chance of dropping out of university. Results show how the nurturing program was designed based on an investigation of classroom problems and discussions with experts. Example activities and lesson plans from the resulting mastery leaning nurturing program are shown, before introducing future work which will go a step further to analyze the effectiveness of this program. It is envisioned that this work could be built upon to improve students' personal mastery and lifelong learning, which could eventually have effects on university dropout rates and wider society.

The research objective is to have the managerial team become a self-managed team that utilises their knowledge for contributing to the organisation/company's goal and team performance. The metaphor of North American football is utilised as a philosophical and conceptual learning tool for building employees' analytical thinking skills to support team performance. The study provides an application script for management to articulate the methodological ideas of the sports into the business core operation.

And it helps us to understand the social restrictions that Northern Thai and Lao women experience today as a result of global changes. Women are losing their unique identity. This study aims to show these aspects of women from another angle by investigating women in an earlier period and comparing them to those of today. This should hopefully be beneficial to further studies of women’s issues in the context of gender and multiculturalism.

It also aimed at exploring the correlation of attitude towards gender roles and socio-economic status with the creative tourism in Thailand. The study will focus on the thematic aspects as follows; Firstly, it will consider the phenomenon of gender from the viewpoint that this is defined by a cultural system through social and historical conditioning. Biological differences apart, people’s values, expectations and actions are shaped by the concept of „gender”. There is therefore a need to discuss the status and the roles that are imposed on women by a society and its culture, whose influence never ceases to affect the social relationships between the sexes. Secondary, it will look at the gender aspects of tourism to the attention of policy makers, not only the term of empowerment gender roles but also contribute the creative activ...

The study area chosen was Chiang Mai Province as it has been known as the central city of the north. The study found that the changing "Image of the northern women" resulted from a change in attitude and imagination about the northern women which has been related to the history and political change along with economic and socio-cultural change in Thailand. Another interesting aspect was the fact that the image of northern women seemed to be related to the continual expansion of tourism of the country since the 1960's.
