A wide range of structurally varied carboxylic acids have been found to provide selectively the monoacylated products in high yields.

An efficient one-pot condensation has been developed for the synthesis of polyhydroquinolines via... more An efficient one-pot condensation has been developed for the synthesis of polyhydroquinolines via a four component coupling reaction of aldehyde, dimedone, ethyl acetoacetate, and ammonium acetate under catalyst and solvent-free conditions. Non-hazardous experiment procedure, operational simplicity, mild reaction conditions, and the compatibility with various functional groups represent the advantages of the present method.

A mild, efficient, and environment friendly method has been developed for the synthesis of 14-alk... more A mild, efficient, and environment friendly method has been developed for the synthesis of 14-alkyl or aryl-14H-dibenzo[a, j]xanthenes by condensation of 2-naphthol and aldehydes in the presence of a catalytic amount of indium(III) triflate (2 mol%) in water at 100°C. Different types of aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes are used in the reaction, and in all cases the products synthesized in moderate to excellent yields. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ABSTRACT A simple, efficient, and general method has been developed for the synthesis of 1-substi... more ABSTRACT A simple, efficient, and general method has been developed for the synthesis of 1-substituted-1H-1,2,3,4-tetrazoles via a three-component condensation of amine, trimethyl orthoformate, and sodium azide in presence of a catalytic amount of indium triflate under solvent-free conditions. The reaction proceeds smoothly to generate the corresponding 1-substituted tetrazoles in moderate to excellent yields under heating.
