Knowledge although always remains as the most important resource both at individual and collective levels, recently organizational practitioners, private and public, reinvent the role of knowledge in management and governance, emphasize on it, and involve in knowledge management. Consequently knowledge management now constitutes a vital part of governance. However, this paper argues in a distinct approach where knowledge management is considered as the essential kit to bring sustainable change in human behavior in the organization which ultimately paves the way for smooth functioning of governance. The changed or positive attitude in organizational people or citizens will ease and support the way of ensuring governance principles and practices. So, the principal objective of this paper is to place the knowledge management as the supportive mechanism for governance both in private and public sectors.

The elaborate array of connectors among electronic devices cries out for a better solution. In this fast growing technology world, wireless data transferring in a desired format is essential. Data integrity, data security, cost of hardware and software, and system’s power management capacity is of prime importance for our data acquisition application. With the increasing use of data loggers to collect information in industrial and environmental monitoring applications, has come a corresponding increase in the use of wireless technology to retrieve the information. Botulinum toxin type A (BTXA) was found to be effective in migraine prevention. However, the mechanism of action in patients was unknown. Using injection as in clinical setting, the study aimed to determine whether BTXA could decrease the sensitization of the trigeminovascular nociceptive system through the reduction of CGRP action. Methods: Adult male Wistar rats were pretreated with normal saline solution or BTXA before KCl application to induce cortical spreading depression (CSD) or NaCl application as a control. Regional cerebral blood flow at parietal cortex was measured for 90 min after KCl or NaCl application. Tissues from trigeminal ganglion (TG) and trigeminal nucleus caudalis (TNC) were then collected for CGRP and c-Fos measurement respectively. Results: BTXA pretreatment significantly decreased the cumulative blood flow and number of hyperemic...

While the current AL government has been successful in holding power for more than a decade, the oppositions remain mostly silent with occasional demonstrations and violence. Jamaat is a religion-based political party and one of the significant opponents to the AL regime. In Bangladesh politics, the 1971 liberation war is the determinant factor that acts as a strength for AL due to the glorious leadership and spearheading the independence of Bangladesh. In contrast, Jamaat collaborated with the Pakistani regime for a united Pakistan. It became a symbol of ‘Rajakars’ (collaborators), a much-hated word that is a serious threat to Jamaat in Bangladesh politics. The government led by AL has a trump card in underlining the dubious role of Jamaat during the war and prosecuting the top leaders, including some of them are executed. In response, Jamaat activists carried out several failed attempts to protest the trial by both fighting in legal proceedings and staging violent demonstrations on the streets. The government also took severe actions against all oppositions, including Jamaat to squeeze them out of the political arena. This chapter aims to explore the religious-cum-political strategies taken by Jamaat to survive under a tyrannical hybrid regime of AL. The study findings demonstrate nothing innovative but an old-style of the strategies Jamaat is following covertly that might only ensure its survival in Bangladesh politics. We conclude that the political future of Jamaat is neither bleak nor very promising. Instead, it depends mostly on the political opportunity and the relationship with major political parties, BNP and AL, and collaboration with different religious groups. We provided 6-week-old DSS rats a high-salt diet (HSD, 8% NaCl). Following six weeks of HSD feeding (establishment of cardiac hypertrophy), we divided the animals into the following two groups: HSD or HSD + esaxerenone (0.001%, w/w). In survival study, all HSD-fed animals died by 24 weeks of age, whereas the esaxerenone-treated HSD-fed animals showed significantly improved survival. We used the same protocol with a separate set of animals to evaluate the cardiac function by echocardiography after four weeks of treatment. The results showed that HSD-fed animals developed cardiac dysfunction as evidenced by reduced stroke volume, ejection fraction, and cardiac output. Importantly, esaxerenone treatment decreased the worsening of cardiac dysfunction concomitant with a significantly reduced level of systolic blood pre...

However, it is the dynamic state that is associated with each of the above and that meets or exceeds expectations of a customer. Quality improvement is therefore the progressive reduction of variability. The gradual reduction of process and product variability can be done by successive determination and removal of the causes responsible for the variability.

Most universities in the country offer public administration degrees; however, minimal contributions to nationbuilding have been observed. The study asks: what are the pitfalls behind this? How to address the limitations? This is a qualitative study with gleaned data, using inductive content analysis to investigate the phenomenon with three case universities indicating the link between curriculum and learning delivery at the universities in Bangladesh. The research finds that poor development-oriented public administration education has little correlation to national development. The education system is traditional, where typical cultural features are nonchalance and indifference towards domestic demands. The discipline cannot create a distinctive identity and position in academia, which has consequences for the advancement o...

The aim of the study is to identify the critical farctors affecting the physicians' adoption of EHR in healthcare system of Bangladesh by extending the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to include Personal Innovativeness in Information Technology and Resistance to Change. A crosssectional survey questionnaire was used to collect data from 300 participants in different private and public hospitals in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The study used partial least square (PLS) method, a statistical analysis technique based on the structural equation modeling (SEM), to analyze the collected data. The results of the study determined that Social Influence (β = 0.19, P < 0.05), Facilitating Conditions (β = 0.19, P < 0.05), and Personal Innovativeness in Information Technology (β = 0.19, P < 0.05) had a significant influence on physicians' Behavioral Intention to adopt the EHR system, whereas Performance Expectancy (β = 0.08, P > 0.05), Effort Expectancy (β =-0.02, P > 0.05), and Resistance to Change (β = 0.03, P > 0.05) had no significant influence. The findings suggest that policymakers should increase the adoption of the EHR system by developing social strategies to encourage physicians to stimulate each other to use the EHR system and ensuring technical sufficiency, training to facilitate the use of the EHR system. In addition, the policymakers should identify physicians who possess a propensity to experiment with new information technologies as well as reduce existing challenges and barriers such as computers crush, poor infrastructure with erratic power supply etc. Moreover, we identify future research areas that provide scholars opportunities to push theoretical and empirical boundaries and offer further insights into the study of the EHR system.

However, the effect of D‑allose on lung cancer progression has not been previously studied. To investigate the antitumour effect of D‑allose in lung cancer cells and its mechanism, human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines (squamous cell carcinomas: EBC1 and VMRC‑LCD; adenocarcinomas: A549, HI1017, RERF‑LC‑A1 and NCI-H1975) were treated with D‑allose (50 mM) with or without cisplatin (5 µM). D‑allose inhibited cell growth, particularly in EBC1 and VMRC‑LCD cells. In combination with cisplatin, D‑allose had a synergistic growth inhibitory effect. D‑allose increased the expression of thioredoxin interacting protein (TXNIP) at mRNA and protein levels. D‑allose decreased the proportion of cells in G1 phase and increased those in S and G2/M phases. For in vivo experiments, EBC1 cells were inoculated into BALB/c-nu mice. After tumourigenesis, D‑allose and cisplatin w...
