The article emphasizes that modern Ukrainian military documentary literature is developing at a f... more The article emphasizes that modern Ukrainian military documentary literature is developing at a fast pace, which is due to the modern social context – a full-scale war in Ukraine due to the invasion of the Russian Federation. A long stay in wartime conditions requires understanding, evaluation of events, actualization and explanation for both Ukrainian and foreign audiences, which explains the authors’ interest in this way of reflecting wartime reality. The research focuses on identifying the potential of the narrative method of organizing material in documentary collections about the war in Ukraine. It is emphasized that the specificity of understanding the military reality and its representation by the authors depends on the status of the communicator as an author-observer of the events and the author-participant of the events. The professional duty of a journalist is to present a chronicle of events in social reality, but ... more The professional duty of a journalist is to present a chronicle of events in social reality, but at the same time to focus attention on the problems of society (in particular, crime), to attract experts for a professional assessment and search for solutions to these problems. Coverage of criminal issues in the Ukrainian information space is characterized by fragmentation and discreteness. This means that the focus of attention of journalists is on concrete facts of reality, which are presented out of context and do not form a holistic, full-fledged, voluminous view of the problem of crime. The study focuses on journalistic strategies for representing the stories of victims of crime. Based on the results of the analysis of the stories selected for the study, it became obvious that the priority for journalists is: to demonstrate (and leave in the epicenter of attention) stories that have already acquired resonance in society, or to submit stories that can attract the attention of the ...

Визначено, що автори-учасники не намагалися формувати і відображати ідеальний образ, навпаки-демонстрували особистісні риси військових, які доступно і зрозуміло розкриють аудиторії внутрішній світ героїв. Підкреслено, що образи «українського воїна» узалежнені від авторських комунікаційних намірів та суб'єктивності пережитого ними досвіду перебування на війні.

The following methods were used in this research: general scientific methods (descriptive, analysis, synthesis, comparison) and special (structural, hermeneutic, narrative, method of content analysis). We identified words related to the concept of the enemy and determined the context in which they are used by the authors of the collections Results.
