Cancer prognosis involves predicting the course of the disease, the likelihood that it will spread and recur, and the likelihood that patients will survive. The clinical management of cancer patients will considerably benefit from the precision of cancer prognosis prediction. To better forecast cancer prognosis, modern statistical analysis and Deep learning techniques are being applied, as well as biomedical translational research being improved. In recent years, the processing capacity has significantly increased and the innovation of artificial insight, especially deep learning, has advanced quickly. Cancer is the leading reason for death in people. As a result, cancer detection is essential for early diagnosis and provi...

Methodology: Survey was conducted in the form of questionnaire between November 2021 to February 2022 with mothers. First part of questionnaire contained a set of questions for collection demographic data of participants and second part contained a set of questions to assess knowledge, attitude and practice of participants related to the oral health status of their pre-school children. Descriptive statistics, frequency distribution tests, and chi- squared analysis were employed. Confidence was kept at 95% and p value≤ 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Results: Around 66 mothers felt that milk teeth were also essential for chewing food properly and around 71 of total participants released the importance of milk teeth in totality. Regular dental visits were also strongly agreed by around 6...

It causes hypomineralisation of one to four First Permanent Molar, frequently associated with affected incisors. Investigators have put forward a number of possible causes; asthma, pneumonia upper respiratory tract infections, otitis media, antibiotics, dioxins in mothers milk, tonsillitis and tonsillectomy exanthematous fevers of childhood. At present times the etiology remains unclear. MIH requires a multidisciplinary approach hence a general physician/dentist should consult a pediatric dentist for management of such teeth.

Dental trauma can occur during different steps in anesthesia. The aim of the study is to evaluate the risk factor for dental trauma perioperatively and to look for the preventive measures mostly employed by the anesthesiologist to prevent dental insult. Materials and Methods: The present study involved 40 anesthetists working in private hospitals using simple random sampling. They were asked to answer a questionnaire designed to look for the risk factors that makes tooth most prone for injury and find out the measures that anesthesiologists follow to prevent such injuries to occur. Codes were placed for the obtained data and Medcalc statistical package was used for analysis. Results: Injuries mostly occur during intubation with a laryngoscope in patients where there is limited visibility to the hypopharynx. Maxillary left central incisor was mostly affected. Research paper thumbnail of Non surgical endodontic retreatment of immature permanent anterior teeth with iatrogenic overextended filling: A case report

Journal of Oral Health Research, 2017

The treatment of pulpal injury during this period provides a significant challenge for the clinician. Conventional endodontic treatment in a non-vital tooth will result in overfilling of the obturating material as there is no apical stop for the obturating material. Hence knowledge of the biological process of root development is must to avoid endodontic failure. Here we present a case report where nonsurgical endodontic retreatment was successfully done to remove the overextended gutta-percha from immature permanent teeth. Apexification was carried out by placing an apical plug of MTA. This paper even throws light on causes of endodontic failures, option available to retrieve the old filling material and the significance of preoperative radiograph in establishing the root condition before carrying out any endodontic procedure.

Without help, any mothers see breastfeeding as a goal they cannot reach for themselves. So, the nurse plays a significant role in helping the mother to begin breastfeeding and to take pleasure in it; at one fell swoop, the mother provides her infant with optimum nutrition. However, nursing could be hampered when natal teeth, sometimes called fetal teeth, are present in the mouth of a baby at birth. Teeth erupted in the infant’s mount during the first month of life are termed as neonatal teeth. The normal eruption of the primary teeth typically begins at 6 months of age. Presence of these natal teeth is an uncommon ondition, seen in 1 in 2000–3000 newborns.[1] Various superstitions and folklore are associated with natal teeth, ranging from claims that the affected children were exceptionally favored by fate to the belief that they were doomed among races.[2]……

Uncontrolled attacks can put patients at risk of suffering oro-facial trauma. Antiepileptic drugs (AED) provide satisfactory control of seizures in most of the patients with epilepsy. However use of AED has been found to cause many side effects inclusive of side effects in the oral cavity also. MATERIALS & METHODS This study was conducted on 150 epileptic children, who were on anti epileptic medication for one year. RESULTS Gingival over growth was seen as common side effect of the AED drugs. Lip and cheek biting were the most common soft tissue injury, while tooth fracture was the most common hard tissue dental injury. But, it is not possible to achieve a good apical and lateral seal due to an open apex and an abnormal width and shape of root canal. Endodontic treatment options consist of apical barriers, apexification or more recently, revascularization. The purpose of this case report is to present a treatment to promote root-end growth and apexification in a non-vital immature permanent molar. A case is presented where the calcium hydroxide and idoform paste (Metapex) was placed in root canals of immature non-vital tooth to achieve apexification process. There was resolution of periapical radiolucency and root end closure after 6 months. Metapex shows good clinical and radiographic success in promoting continued root growth and inducing root end closure even in immature necrotic young posteriorpermanent teeth.

The difficulty involved in eliminating microorganisms, as well as their residual presence, warrants the use of root canal dressings after biomechanical preparation. Aim: The aim of the study was to compare the diffusion ability between nonalcoholic calcium hydroxide-propolis paste, calcium hydroxide-saline paste, and calcium hydroxidepropylene glycol paste. Materials and methods: For this proposed study, singlerooted extracted permanent teeth were randomly divided into three groups to fill the canals: group I: Calcium hydroxidepropylene glycol paste, group II: Calcium hydroxide-saline paste, and group III: Calcium hydroxide-propolis paste. After complete filing of the root canal, the pH values of the solutions in the flasks are measured at an interval of 3, 24, 72, 168 hours. Results: After 168-hour interval, it was noticed that the mean pH obtained by calcium hydroxide-propolis paste was 10.54 (± 0.38), which was greater than calcium hydroxide-propylene glycol paste 9.70 (± 0.45) and calcium hydroxide-saline paste 9.16 (± 0.30) consecutively. Conclusion: The nonalcoholic calcium hydroxide-propolis paste used during the study was able to diffuse through the dentinal tubules. Thus, it can be used as a vehicle for calcium hydroxide.
