Despite the advanced stage of illness at presentation, we have shown that host genetics in patients who are critically ill with COVID-19 can identify immunomodulatory therapies with strong beneficial effects in this group3. Here we analyse 24,202 cases of COVID-19 with critical illness comprising a combination of microarray genotype and whole-genome sequencing data from cases of critical illness in the international GenOMICC (11,440 cases) study, combined with other studies recruiting hospitalized patients with a strong focus on severe and critical disease: ISARIC4C (676 cases) and the SCOURGE consortium (5,934 cases). To put these results in the context of existing work, we conduct a meta-analysis of the new GenOMICC genome-wide association study (GWAS) results with previously published data. We find 49...

Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the correlation between sperm deoxyribonucleic acid integrity and sperm parameters. The current study was conducted on 96 semen samples. This study was done at the High Institute for Infertility Diagnosis and Assisted Reproductive Technologies, Al-Nahrain University for the period between November 2020 and May 2021. The samples were collected, and seminal fluid analysis was performed according to World Health Organization guidelines. Sperm Chromatin Dispersion test was performed. Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of implementing a discharge plan on women undergoing Hysterectomy. Methods: A Quasiexperimental (study/control group) design was utilized in this study. A purposive sample of 60 women recruited in this study that conducted at the Gynecological unit at Ain shames university maternity hospital. The study utilizes Four tools, I) Structured Interviewing Questionnaire, II) Structured self-care ability questionnaire III) Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), IIIV) in addition to follow up record and developed supportive material (discharge plan). Results: The present study revealed statistically significant differences between the study and control group regarding their total practice scores, mean pain score as well as health problems after hysterectomy pre, post, and follow up of intervention (P ≤ 0.001). Conclusions: The present study concluded that the implementation of a discharge plan has improved women's self-care practices post-hysterectomy in addition to a reduction in health problems and pain scores among studied women. The study Recommended: an updated discharge plan regarding self-care should be included in routine care for women undergoing hysterectomy. Strong religious and cultural convictions, misunderstanding of the notion of gender equality, and poor strategic approaches from civil society organizations, have contributed to this result. In order to ensure that Nigeria is meeting its international obligations, it is important for advocates of the bill from the legislature and civil society to adapt their strategies so that they are better suited at targeting the factors that are directly hindering the success of the bill.

It is intended to enhance our understanding of impoliteness, in particular parliamentary interactions. Hence, the study aims at developing an analytical framework to account for and compare the nature of parliamentary impoliteness in these two settings. The comparison includes three dimensions of impoliteness: (1) the factors that underlie the communication/ interpretation of impoliteness in these settings; (2) the linguistic set of strategies utilised by the Iraqi and British parliamentarians to convey impoliteness in initiation turns; (3) the counter-impoliteness patterns available to politicians in the Iraqi and British parliaments. Following a theory- and data-driven approach, this study integrates different approaches to device an analytical framework that covers cross-cultural differences in impoliteness patterns. The framework draws on Bull et al.'...
