Methods A within-trial economic evaluation conducted from the UK NHS and personnel social services (PSS) perspective. Health resources and quality-of-life data were collected as part of the Ankle Injury Rehabilitation (AIR) multicentre, randomized controlled trial over a 12-month period using trial case report forms and patient-completed questionnaires. Cost-utility analysis was estimated in terms of the incremental cost per quality adjusted life year (QALY) gained. Estimate uncertainty was explored by bootstrapping, visualized on the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio plane. Net monetary benefit and probability of cost-effectiveness were evaluated at a range of willingness-to-pay thresholds and visualized graphically. Results The incremental cost and QALYs of using brace over a 12-month period were £46.73 (95% confidence interval (CI) £-9 to £147) and 0....

The method involves three steps: Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction, N(2)-alkylation, and acid hydrolysis, respectively, to obtain final products with good yields. According to Lipinski's rule of five and Veber's rule, pharmacokinetics studies of the synthesized compounds showed that all the parameters were in between the permissible limits. The toxicity parameters were low for the compounds to act as drugs. J. Bangladesh Acad. Sci. 45(1); 37-47: June 2021

A series of six new 4-(3-aryl-1,6-dihydro-6-iminopyridazin-1-yl)butyronitrile hydro-bromides (2a-2f) (Scheme 1) have been prepared starting from commercially available 3-amino-6-chloropyridazine in two steps with good yields. The synthesized compound’s structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR and high-resolution mass structures spectral (HRMS) data. One of the fungi (2L-5) isolated from the leaves was fermented in a large scale and extracted with ethyl acetate. The fungal extract was found to be active against two bacteria, Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus. From the ethyl acetate extract two steroids, ergosterol and cerevisterol were isolated. Structures of the compounds were elucidated by high-resolution 1- and 2-D NMR spectroscopy. Key words: Ocimum basilicum, Secondary Metabolites, Endophytic fungi, Ergosterol, Cerevesterol Dhaka Univ. But still there is no report of analgesic and neuropharmacological activities of the plant. For this reason, the present study was designed to evaluate analgesic and neuropharmacological activities of methanol extract of the aerial parts of Tinospora cordifolia. Analgesic activity of the crude extract at the dose of 200 and 400 mg/kg b.w. was evaluated for its central and peripheral pharmacological actions using hotplate and tail flick tests and acetic acid-induced writhing test respectively in mice. The extract produced a significant (p < 0.05-0.001) increase in pain threshold in hotplate and tail flick tests in a dose dependent manner. In acetic acid-induced writhing test the extract at both doses produced significant (p < 0.001) inhibition of writhing reaction but maximum inhibition (65.01%) of writhi...

However, deciding which model to use is challenging, because (1) the performance stability of a particular model in a dynamic and distributed environment, is hard to establish (2) the performance objective of the Grid network may be complex, and it is difficult to know which model would best fit such an objective, (3) evidence indicates that no single model can cope with every scenario, and (4) no suitable tools exist to accurately predict and contrast the performances of one model with another model in a particular domain. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of widely proposed economic models in terms of a range of scenarios is, therefore, crucial. To address this, the authors developed a general evaluation platform suitable for analyzing the performance of different economic models in the Grid. This work identifies domains of strength of individual models and highlights their use in various scenarios of Grid computing.
