The Construction industry is an integral part of a country's economy, its growth and plays a pivo... more The Construction industry is an integral part of a country's economy, its growth and plays a pivotal role in developing the country's infrastructure. The current status report published by the Indian Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) highlighted that out of the 951 projects being monitored 309 projects have cost overruns and 474 projects are behind schedule. The scope of this study is to investigate the importance levels of factors causes cost overrun in construction projects undertaken by construction companies. Eight factors named Design and Documentation Related Factors (DDF), Financial Management Related Factors (FIN), Communication Related Factors (ICT), Material and Machinery Related Factors (MMF), Human Resource Related Factors (LAB), Project Management Related Factors (PMCA), Contractors Site Management Related Factors (CSM), External Factors (EF) and their respective sub-factors are found to be responsible for cost escalation. Based on these above factors questionnaire was prepared and distributed 38 respondents. The data received from questionnaire survey was analyzed using Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) to carry out reliability test, hypothesis, correlation and ranking. The survey results indicated that Contractors Site Management Related Factors (RII=0.928), which is being most significant among the others that leads to delay in completion of the project and causes overrun.

Based on the simplified Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) strategy, a feasible feed forward control scheme is developed to achieve better rectifier mode and inverter mode performance compared with the conventional dual loop control scheme. The proposed simplified PWM strategy with the proposed feed forward control scheme has lower total harmonic distortion. The features of the proposed converter will be verified by the simulation using MATLAB.

The increase in demand for power unlocked the gates of many alternative energy resources like sol... more The increase in demand for power unlocked the gates of many alternative energy resources like solar, wind and tidal. But these sources are seasonal and uncertain. This uncertainty made the private organizations to generate their own electric power. In this concept, here comes the airport management that has overcome the uncertainty to produce power by developing its own power generation in runway by using the great air velocity of the aircraft during landing and takeoff. The low power wind turbine (LPWT) is installed on both sides of runway to acquire power during aircraft landing and takeoff. The second concept is the touchdown point which is automated in this paper. Touchdown aviation is essential to reduce accidents during end state of flying called landing. An innovative concept of employing piezo electric crystals arranged in matrix format on the runway touchdown zones (approximately 100meters). Piezo crystal accepts the impact energy of an aircraft while touching runway and generates voltage, accepts frictional energy while movement of an aircraft.

For medium and high power applications, it is difficult to attain depending on a single switch. Therefore, the concept of multilevel inverters where introduced in 1974. At present situation multilevel inverter is becoming more popular due to its staircase output whose characteristics is closer to the characteristics of sinusoidal waveform. But generally it has some disadvantages like, requirement of increased number of switches and complex pulse width modulation methods to reduce harmonics. The cascaded Hbridge multilevel inverter requires least number of components to achieve various voltage level by which the quality output is obtained. However as the number of voltage levels m grows, the number of active switches increases according to 2× (m-1) for the cascaded H Bridge. Here, the novel multilevel inverter topology with reduced number of power switches is proposed and the switching frequency is getting reduced. The power quality of the proposed system is improved by using selective harmonic elimination (SHE) method. The whole system is numerically reformed developing MATLAB/SIMULINK and the simulation results are presented. High power sinewave inverter with minimum distortion is required in numerous applications of the industry. This requirement is not attainable using a single switch and therefore multilevel inverter stretched its hands with its several advancements. In present days multilevel inverter takes its role with staircase output and reduced harmonics. The 21 level inverter is proposed here with reduced number switches and reduced harmonics. Since the number of switches are reduced the switching frequency is also getting reduced. The power quality of the proposed 21 level inverter is increased by using selective harmonic elimination technique (SHE). The staircase output is achieved with the simulation using MATLAB/ SIMULINK and the same staircase output is obtained with the implementation of hardware also.

High power sinewave inverter with minimum distortion is required in numerous applications of the industry. This requirement is not attainable using a single switch and therefore multilevel inverter stretched its hands with its several advancements. In present days multilevel inverter takes its role with staircase output and reduced harmonics. The 21 level inverter is proposed here with reduced number switches and reduced harmonics. Since the number of switches are reduced the switching frequency is also getting reduced. The power quality of the proposed 21 level inverter is increased by using selective harmonic elimination technique (SHE). The staircase output is achieved with the simulation using MATLAB/ SIMULINK and the same staircase output is obtained with the implementation of hardware also.

This paper presents a novel simplified direct current control strategy for the bidirectional ac/d... more This paper presents a novel simplified direct current control strategy for the bidirectional ac/dc single phase converter in a micro grid system. Based on the simplified Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) strategy, a feasible feed forward control scheme is developed to achieve better rectifier mode and inverter mode performance compared with the conventional dual loop control scheme. The proposed simplified PWM strategy with the proposed feed forward control scheme has lower total harmonic distortion. The features of the proposed converter will be verified by the simulation using MATLAB.
