Research paper thumbnail of A comparative study on the antioxidant activity of selected medicinal plant extracts

European Journal of Biotechnology and Bioscience, 2016

Free radical sacvanging activity was studied using DPPH method. Highest antioxidant activity observed in Kalanchoe pinnata with 69.841% and 78.56% in ethanol and methanol extract respectively. In case of ethanol extract Ficus racemosa, and Ocimum gratissimum showed higher antioxidant activity as compared to other. In case of methanol extract Kalanchoe pinnata is at top. This present study proves that the plant extracts have considerable antioxidant property and further detailed studies and characterization of these plant extracts can contribute to their medicinal and pharmaceutical applications.

IJCRT - International Journal of Creative Research Thoughts (IJCRT), May 1, 2021

Gibberellic acid (GA3) considered as one of the important plant hormone in growth and development... more Gibberellic acid (GA3) considered as one of the important plant hormone in growth and development of plant. It has wide applications in agriculture area as well as in horticulture. Bacteria have symbiotic association with plant thus they utilize atmospheric nitrogen and help plant for growth .one of the important metabolite known as gibberellic acid synthesised by bacteria utilized by plant for their growth and development. This study aims at isolation of gibberelic acid producing bacteria and its characterization .Total 25 isolates were isolated from rhizospheric soil of various local plants such as Rice, sugarcane, jowari, mug bean from agricultural field of solapur area .these isolates were screened for gibberellic acid production in artificial nutrient media and analysed by spectrophotometric method. Among these isolates RR5 (Rice Rizobacteria) and SR2 (Sugar Rhizobacteria) produce gibberellic acid in high amount as compare to other isolates and thus used for further study. The filtrate was bio assayed on wheat plant and show significant growth after treatment with organic solution of rhizobacterial filtrate.

Research paper thumbnail of Iron Adsorption from Textile Industrial Effluent on Activated Carbon Prepared from Tamarind Seeds (Tamarindus indica L.)

International journal of scientific research in science, engineering and technology, 2020

The important source of water pollution is industrial effluent. General contaminants in effluent water are heavy metals, phenols, dyes, harmful organics, ligands and suspended solids .Treatment of effluent water plays vital role in many industries, the treatment of adsorption proved to be most important well known and economical process. The ability of certain solids of preferentially concentrate specific substance on their surface is the basic principle for adsorption. Water with high content of iron can be very objectionable. In our research work the activated carbon prepared from tamarind seeds was employed to take up selected heavy metal that is iron ions. Tamarind seeds which are an agricultural waste and also waste product in many industries was activated by phosphoric acid treatment, is investigated for the removal of iron ions from textile ...
