A new examination of the Ebla texts reveals many hints for the localization derived from itineraries and the reports of military campaigns against Armi. These itineraries will be compared with our knowledge about the contemporary archaeologically identifi ed sites, with the natural resources and possible ways of circulation within the region NorthEast of Ebla. Further hints for a possible identifi cation with the site of Tall Bazi in the Upper Syrian Euphrates valley are derived from the results of the last excavation campaigns.
