A factory foreman is concerned about the high rate of absenteeism of his workers every Monday mor... more A factory foreman is concerned about the high rate of absenteeism of his workers every Monday morning. His hunch is that the workers drink too much during the weekend, have a hangover on Monday mornings and cannot attend work. He also feels that the high rate of pay they receive allows them to become lethargic. From an informal talk with his employees, the foreman finds that almost every single worker drinks during the weekend. However, some said that they could handle drinks very well and never had hangovers. “Ha! Now I know,” mused the foreman, “only those who do not have an adequate tolerance level for alcoholic beverages suffer the effects of hangover and remain absent on Monday mornings. Of course, high pay may also be a reason.”
Given the above situation, answer the following:
(a) What would be the Problem Statement?
Problem Statement: Would pay and drinking influence absenteeism?
Develop a Theoretical Framework for the above problem using a diagram. Explain your diagram briefly (you may use dependent, independent, moderating and intervening variables where appropriate).

This reflection on communities’ position in forest management was carried out in
Manhica locality, Administrative Post of Homoíne district, aiming to understand the involvement of communities in forest resources management. To this end, the work includes studying the communities’ sensitivity about the importance of forests in the environment, assessing community participation in forest management activities and analysing the decentralization of forest management responsibilities.
The mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) is a peculiar way of obtaining and
analysing information at the study site, aiming to define actions to address phenomena or facts and generate new and systematic knowledge. The objectives of this work can contribute to the development of a participatory forest management philosophy that incorporates, strengthens and consolidates the sustainable use and conservation of forests in order to reduce illegal activities in the sector and minimize their socioeconomic and environmental impacts.
