The evaluation consisted of five dimensions: strategy, processes, innovative organization, linkages and learning. The results showed that the Saudi Company has top management commitment and support for innovation, the learning dimension is very well managed, the company is committed to the development of its employees worldwide and the innovation system is flexible. The results also showed that the linkages and process dimensions ranked in the middle and the innovative organization and strategy dimensions have lower ranks. The results were compared with two Brazilian companies: “Arinos” and “Poly Easy”; and two Chinese companies: “Guizhou YiBai Pharmaceutical” and “Huagong Tools”. These companies are not similar to the Saudi Company in s...

These findings would contribute to the literature in understanding users' usage, preferences, needs, and expectations about smartwatches that would aid smartwatches designers and also decision-makers in integrating the smartwatch technology in various service-enabled areas such a healthcare, e-learning etc. To address this gap, the objective of this study was formulated to understand the actual consumers' perceptions of toward the use of smartwatches and explore the critical factors affecting the adoption and intention to use smartwatches in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.MethodsA cross-sectional study was designed to assess the actual perception of use smartwatches and to investigate the influencing factors that affect the utilization among Saudi population using the survey technique. The first objective of this paper is to map the innovation space available in the Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation, one of the largest petrochemical companies in the Middle East. The second is to suggest modifications to an innovation mapping tool and apply the modified tool to the same company. First, data were collected over a three-year period. They were analyzed and mapped using the 4Ps innovation mapping model. Second, modifications were suggested to eliminate the weaknesses associated with this model. The results showed that the company introduced a total of forty four innovations that were all incremental; the majority fell in the product and process. The implementation process of the 4Ps model showed that it has deficiencies in some cases, due to not having clear dividing lines between pure and combined innovat...

First, an audit survey was carried out in the Saudi company. The results revealed that there is top management commitment and support for innovation, learning is well managed, the company is committed to the development of its employees worldwide and the innovation system is flexible enough to allow small projects to be fasttracked. Second, the audit results were compared with those of four companies in Brazil and China. SABIC was doing better than some companies in the linkages, learning and process dimensions. Some of the gaps between SABIC and the average of the Chinese and Brazilian firms are very low and could easily be closed. SABIC has strengths and weaknesses similar to the Chinese firms. They both showed strength in learning and weakness in strategy, while the Brazilian firms showed strength in the strategy and weakness in linkages. On the other hand, SABIC's innovative organization and strategy dimensions ranked lowest and special attention is needed in these aspects JEL: O32
