Material and Methods: We have studied young adult male spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) 20 weeks old, divided in 4 groups of 5 animals each: Controls, spironolactone lower dose (5mg/kg/day), spironolactone average dose (10mg/kg/day), and spironolactone higher dose (30mg/ kg/day) dissolved in drinking water (for 12 weeks). Serum albumin, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine, and the volume-weighted mean glomerular volume (VWGV) were measured. Results: Common progress of blood pressure (BP) in young adult SHR was greatly altered by spironolactone treatment, by either attenuation or reversion of BP increasing tendency. Biochemical evaluation of kidney function indicated normal levels for albumin and creatinine, and high levels for BUN in SHR in all groups. Thickened intrarenal arteries and venous stasis were observed in all groups. Treated SHR spironolactone average and higher doses glomeruli presented smaller and more regular profiles; glomerular hypertrophy with glomerular tuft gross disarray in controls and treated SHR spironolactone lower dose was observed. VWGV was significantly greater in control and treated SHR spironolactone lower dose than in treated SHR spironolactone average and higher doses. Conclusions: Monotherapy with spironolactone may affect glomerular size and shape in a dose-dependent way; spironolactone showed a significant effect in preserving VWGV, and may be used associated with other drugs in antihypertensive therapy to prevent secondary effects of hypertension in the kidney.

Method: This is an action research. The theory chosen was that of Basic Human Needs as proposed by Wanda Horta. The ICNP ® was selected as the single classification system for the terminology with regard to diagnoses, expected outcomes and nursing interventions. Data collection will be carried out in accordance with the implementation of the SNC in each sector of the institution, consisting of the following steps: documentary research based on documents produced by the nursing staff and on the nursing diagnoses of the patients; field research through systematic observation of the team work processes; and seminars. In order to analyze the data obtained in the survey of nursing problems, the terms extracted from the medical charts will be analyzed and classified according to the model of nursing diagnoses contained in ICNP ® 2.0.

Method: descriptive and exploratory study of qualitative approach, of type of intervention research. The subject will be nurses, nursing technicians, doctors and physiotherapists of the NICU of a maternity-School located in the city of Rio de Janeiro/RJ. Data collection will be carried out with the filming of learning tutorials and groups with a semi-structured questionnaire, applying three months after the completion of the group. The empirical data of filming will be transcribed and submitted to thematic analysis. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee, under the Protocol 11257012.2.0000.5275. Expected results: construction of collective knowledge on the management of pain in the Neonatal Unit with direct repercussion on quality of care. Descriptors: Education; Neonatal Intensive Care Units; Intervention. Aims: to identify the difficulties faced by the nursing professionals in applying the Neonatal Infant Pain Scale to measure the pain as the fifty vital sign in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; to describe the pain-relief measures used by nursing professionals from the observation of a positive score during the scale use. Method: descriptive study with a quality approach. The scenario of the study will be a state maternity hospital in Rio de Janeiro, whose nursing professionals are the population of this research. The data gathering will be from August to October 2013. The statistics analysis will be through Program EPI INFO 3.5.2 ® .
