For this, modal analyses of a boom, mast, and tower crane are carried out individually to minimize the tuning effect of natural frequencies. The study explains the methodology to increase the stiffness using bracings in the mast expressed in modal parameters. In FEM analysis, bracings are applied in fixed support along the vertical mast of the tower crane. For this purpose, a 1/10 scale model of “Potain MCi85 A/B” tower crane was modelled in Nx-Unigraphics. Theoretical analysis of the boom’s natural frequencies and its counterweight is assumed as cantilever beam and mast in form column. The values of natural frequencies of tower cranes under different boundary conditions are obtained through Galerkin and Dunkerley’s mathematical expressions. Theoretical and FEM results established similar trends of increasing stability as revealed in terms of natural f...

Early equine pregnancy shares many features with that of more intensively assessed domestic animals species, but there are also characteristic differences. In mares, early diagnosis of pregnancy can be done due to the spherical shape. The ultrasonic visualization of conceptus is possible from day 9 of equine pregnancy. In spite of numerous, substantial advances in equine reproduction, many stages of embryonic and foetal morphological development are poorly understood, with no apparent single source of comprehensive information. Hence, in the present study we aimed at studying the dynamics of early embryonic developments in equines, particularly for Marwari breed of horses. The results from the current study revealed that, embryonic vesicles (EV) were first observed on 11th day, fixation occurred after 16.25±0.25 days of ovulation, EV lost spherical shap...

It is the movement of individuals for better opportunities and growth in terms of economic strength, access to medical facilities, education, or political stability. Migrant workers are widespread across the country and often engage themselves in the informal sector due to their weak education background and economic backwardness. These informal sector workers are engaged in works of low-paying or perilous jobs in crucial sectors in urban areas like the manufacturing industries, construction, hotel industry, textiles, transportation, domestic workers, etc. According to the Economic Survey of India,2017, India's inter-state migration during 2011-16 was about 9 million annually and as per the Census2011 report, the internal migrants(including intra and interstate migrants) was around 139 million. Research paper thumbnail of In silico identification of target fetal protein(s) in the development of polycystic ovarian syndrome

Journal of Applied Biology & Biotechnology

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a multifactorial reproductive disorder mainly affecting ovu... more Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a multifactorial reproductive disorder mainly affecting ovulating women. Animal studies to date have identified hyperandrogenicity as one of the major causes of PCOS, while estrogen treatment temporarily decreases symptoms. Researchers believe that a high androgen level in a pregnant woman during pregnancy results PCOS-like symptoms in the newborn female baby, which are expressed later during reproductive age. The present work is an in silico analysis of the effect of hyperandrogenicity during fetal ovarian development. An alteration in the level of steroid hormone (androgen, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone) reportedly affects gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion and later on the development of ovarian follicles. Nuclear receptors such as DAX-1 (dosage-sensitive sex reversal, adrenal hypoplasia congenital critical region on the X chromosome, gene 1) and steroidogenic factor-1 (SF-1) also affect the level of various sex hormones and ovary formation. Hence, the study was carried out to evaluate the effect of these steroid hormones on the promoter region of KISS1 gene and DAX1 gene apart from the effect of these steroid hormones on the binding of kisspeptin (involved in GnRH secretion) and SF1 protein (involved in DAX1 expression modulation). The study involved molecular modeling of promoter regions of KISS1 and DAX1 gene; kisspeptin and SF1 proteins, followed by molecular dockings studies of these promoter regions and proteins against steroid hormone (androgen, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone), taken as ligand. The study reflected that both the androgen and progesterone show binding over the TATA box of the KISS1 gene, which can be inferred to possibly regulate its expression and affect GnRH secretion to imbalance hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis. This alteration may further cause an abnormal luteinizing hormone: Follicle-stimulating hormone ratio that may result in abnormal steroidogenesis. The molecular docking studies of SF1 protein against DAX1 promoter region were observed to be better than binding when SF1 protein was complexed with studied steroid hormones. The observations lead to the inference that binding of steroid hormones with SF1 protein lowers the expression of DAX1 gene, as the former is essentially required for DAX1 gene expression, which may result in abnormal ovary development in a female fetus as well as abnormal sex steroids level. Thus, it may be concluded that over-secretion of sex steroids is likely to affect female fetus development and hypothalamus-pituitary-gonads axis to trigger PCOS-like symptoms.

Also, The Indian government wants to install 450 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030, with solar accounting for 280 GW (more than 60%). To ensure that the sun continues to shine over the country's sunrise industry for the next ten years, roughly 25 GW of solar energy capacity will need to be added each year (Sawhney, 2021). But a major problem with the solar power plant is the accumulation of dust and soiling on the surface of a photovoltaic panel. It reduces the efficiency of the photovoltaic panel. Generally, dust problem occurs in the dessert area while soiling problem occurs in other locations. However, solar power plants performance also depends on the tilt angle, Surface material of photovoltaic panel, solar incidence angle, and weather patterns (humidity, rainfall, airborne particle concentration, wind, etc.). Accumulation of dust on the photovoltaic panel surface partially stops the transmission of solar radiation, which decreases photovoltaic panel conversion efficiency and the overall performance of the solar power plant (Guo et al., 2015).

TinyDiffusion is based on the concept of data-centric or subject-based routing as is the SCADDS data diffusion implementation[3]. Stringent resource constraints on the motes restrict the ability to provide all capabilities currently supported by the implementation on the PC104 testbed. The TinyDiffusion implementation abstracts the underlying communication primitives, providing an interface to access sensor data by naming attributes. 2 TinyDiffusion API Overview The current TinyDiffusion API supports a preliminary cut at the data naming mechanism. The NR API[1] describes an extensive framework to support attribute naming and to describe matching rules. The current TinyDiffusion implementation provides a very rudimentary attribute naming framework, essentially reducing attributes to a single byte, and focusses on getting the publish/subscribe routi

Research paper thumbnail of Inertial Control Applied to Synchronverters to Achieve Linear Swing Dynamics

2019 Electric Power Quality and Supply Reliability Conference (PQ) & 2019 Symposium on Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics (SEEM), 2019

Power system stability has become a critical aspect with increasing integration of converter-inte... more Power system stability has become a critical aspect with increasing integration of converter-interfaced generators (CIGs). The power system is evolving from synchronous generators, with high inertia and slow nature, to CIGs, with little or no-inertia and very fast dynamics. The challenge lies in the smooth transition from reliable operation with synchronous machines to operating dynamic power-electronics based generators (up to 100%). The idea is to explore the flexibility offered by Power Electronics (PE) to develop control strategies such that a linear and uniform system dynamics (LSD) can be achieved. In this paper, inertia-control is proposed to achieve LSD. This linearizes the behavior of converters and hence enables stability analysis using simple tools for linear system. Following which, a novel control law based on delta-based linearized swing equation is proposed to achieve LSD. It transforms the control problem from regulation of power to regulation of power-angle. A new constant, namely rocof constant, is defined. The dynamics equations are presented with the stability analysis. Time-domain simulation results, using MATLAB, are presented for these control strategies for a Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB).
