This study intends to assess the perceptions of Indonesian students toward tap water. This cross-sectional survey was conducted online using an online questionnaire. From 1,034 undergraduate students, our findings revealed that Indonesian students had a relatively low rate of bottled water consumption. Employing the framework of the theory of planned behavior, all factors were recognized as significant factors driving tap water consumption. Students who reported drinking two or fewer bottles of water per week perceive that tap water is safe and clean for consumption is practical, and has almost the same color, taste, and smell as bottled water. Students concede that consuming tap water is a habit and consider this action necessary to preserve the environment. As observed from demographic characteristics, students’ fields of study affect the choice of drinking water. This study has c...

The research participants were 35 pre-service teachers attending Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education department at a state university in Malang. The research method was descriptive quantitative. The assessment was conducted by reviewing lesson plans designed by the pre-service teachers. Rubric within Shulman's framework was used for assessing the lesson plans by considering some key aspects of teaching to foster HOTS, namely content knowledge, the use of questions, and problem-solving. The results have revealed that the pre-service teachers did not show a good ability to interpret contents. Besides, the pre-service teachers tended to use clarifying questions in learning. This was due to the fact that the designed learning had not been based on problems. It can be said that the capacities of the pre-service teachers in both content ...

However, there is no validated instrument for measuring undergraduate student knowledge about COVID-19. This study is at the cutting edge of validating the psychometry of students' knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) toward COVID-19. The assessment instrument consists of 18 items in the knowledge domain, 6 items in the attitude domain, and 12 items in the practice domain. This questionnaire underwent expert validation prior to being administered to 389 respondents. A RASCH model and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were applied to evaluate the psychometric characteristics of the instrument. A four-factor model was tested for measurement model validity for knowledge domain, and two-factor model for attitude and practice domains by CFA. The results showed model yielded adequate goodness-of-fit values. In addition, results of RASCH model showed that the item content validity index was high. The item reliability for all the three domains was good, with a high separation index value. Thirty-six items were fitted to the model, based on recommended mean-square fit values, standardized Z-scores, and point-measure correlation coefficients. The response set in the questionnaire fit the Andrich threshold estimates well, and functioned as an appropriate model for the response category. The questionnaire thus shows excellent psychometric characteristics. Thus, this instrument can be used to measure undergraduate student KAP and can be implemented in future studies that want to assess the effectiveness of interventions to improve students' understanding of COVID-19.

Based on the results of the Biotechnology level of undergraduate students' needs assessment, it is known that the teaching materials have not used the bioinformatics approach. However, bioinformatics is a significant study in this course. One of the alternatives to achieve the goal of learning is to develop textbook-based research. The textbook was designed based on research on the potential analysis of quercetin compounds in apples as anti-autism by reverse docking. The study aims to develop a textbook for the biotechnology course. The method to the development of a textbook on this research used a development of Dick & Carey model. The study involved 3 students for the individual test, and 9 students for small group test. The results of validation from the material expert, media expert, and learning practitioner are 96%, 91%, and 93%, while the results of students' tests are individual test 84% and small group test 86%. All validation results show a very valid category with revisions according to expert advice and readability from students. The textbook developed can be used as materials for undergraduate students in courses relevant to the content of textbook, especially Biotechnology courses in the Biology Education department.

This study used experimental methods with Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The stage of the study was the preparation, the implementation, and the final stage. The subject of study was twelve students of Surabaya Pharmacy School from first, second, and third grades taken at random through the student truancy scale and divided into two groups, control and experiment group. The intervention is done by doing the counseling group with cognitive restructuring technique to reduce the student’s truancy behavior. The Data was analyzed using SPSS Paired Sampled T-Test. The analysis result showed that there was a significant difference before and after the intervention using cognitive restructuring in the experiment group. Therefore, the technique of cognitive restructuring is effective to reduce student's truanc...

Since new words are created over time, language learners also need to know how words are created. One of the ways to create new words is by knowing derivational affixes. This present study tries to seek the distribution of English derivational affixes through two corpora and set up the new level of affixes which can be used in enriching student’s vocabulary since learning affixes can improve student’s vocabulary exponentially. In conducting this study, the writer sorts the affixes found in the top 5000 word list of COCA (general) and the top 3000 word list of COCA academic. From the data, it found 217 prefixed words and 958 suffixed words in general corpus. Whereas in academic corpus, it found 545 prefixed words and 1252 suffixed words. Then, those affixed words are classified into each group of affixes based on Cambridge Grammar of English (Carter & McCarthy, 2006) and Stockwell & Minkova (2001). Thus, qualitative metho...
