This study examined the perceived effects of classroom learning environment on the learning of ec... more This study examined the perceived effects of classroom learning environment on the learning of economics in selected Senior High Schools in the Assin South District of Ghana. The descriptive cross-sectional survey design was used for the study. In total, 400 Economics students were randomly selected for the study. Data were collected through a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree. Descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (independent sample t-test) statistics were used for the data analysis. The findings of the study showed that economics students had a positive perception about their economics classroom environment. The study discovered the economics classroom environment had a positive effect on the learning of economics. Also, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the perceived effects of classroom environment on economics students’ learning based on sex. It was recommended that Economics teachers and headmasters should continue to make sure that they provide conducive classroom environment for students. Additionally, the treatment of males and females should be different since both of them respond to the economics classroom environment differently. Finally, it was recommended that teachers should continue to provide safe economics classroom environment since it affects the learning of economics positively.
