Concurrent ALS and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is also a well-known phenomenon. Examples of other primary disorders mimicking ALS or ALS-FTD have been reported in the literature and recognition of these entities is important to ensure proper clinical management. We present here an unusual case of an 86-year-old male patient, clinically diagnosed with ALS and severe cognitive impairment thought to be due to FTD. Postmortem neuropathological examination of his brain and spinal cord did not reveal the typical findings of ALS or FTD. Rather, it revealed multiple non-ALS pathologies including argyrophilic grain disease (AGD), cerebrovascular disease, and Alzheimer's type pathology. This case raises the possibility that mixed pathologies could mimic motor neuron disease.

Body image dissatisfaction is a problem of growing concern that affects psychological wellbeing. Objectives: This study aims to estimate the prevalence of body image dissatisfaction, identify its underlying risk factors, and explore the relation between actual, perceived and desired BMI among female medical students in Taibah University, KSA. Method: This is a cross-sectional survey that involved 242 participants. Data were collected using a nine figure silhouette rating scale for assessing body image dissatisfaction, a self-administered questionnaire for identifying possible factors contributing to dissatisfaction, and measurement of the participants' weight and height to calculate their actual BMI.

He had moderate respiratory distress upon arrival at the hospital. Laboratory investigations revealed salicylate poisoning. He had been taking high doses of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) daily to cope with his severe facial pain. He was stabilized with oxygen supplementation and treated via alkaline diuresis for the salicylate toxicity. He became unable to walk within a day of hospital admission. Neurology was consulted for assessment of this heterogeneous symptom complex. The patient’s neurological examination was significant for subtle left-sided Horner’s syndrome with miosis and ptosis. Additionally, he had mild left hemiparesis. Sensory examination was negative for sensory loss to touch or pinprick. However, the patient had continuous left-sided pain in the forehead, maxilla, and mandibular ar...
