The structural, tribological and mechanical properties of the engineering parts manufactured by t... more The structural, tribological and mechanical properties of the engineering parts manufactured by the selective laser melting (SLM) method are highly affected by the strategies and parameters used in manufacturing. Therefore, it is extremely important to know/control the effect of the parameters to be used in manufacturing on the mechanical and tribological properties of the material and to determine the optimum production conditions. In this study, the effects of these fabrication parameters of SLM process on the structural, mechanical properties and wear performance of 316L stainless steel were investigated. Because many production parameters are involved in the SLM method, it was tried to save material and time by systematically reducing the manufacturing parameters. In experimental studies, the parameters of scanning speed, laser beam power and hatch spacing, which directly affect the laser energy density, were investigated. As a result, it was determined that the manufacturing parameters/strategies used in the SLM method have a significant effect on the mechanical properties and wear performance of 316L stainless steel. The lowest wear rate was obtained for the sample produced with 70% hatch spacing and 0° build orientation. This sample also represented the parameter in which the highest microhardness and density ratio was obtained.

Abstract:
Victimize risk means the threat to be victim of a crime and that risk can be increase due to age, sex, profession and social class, marital status and environmental place factors. Although women have low victimize risk than the men (except the sexual crime), it is seen that women have high risk for being exposed to the mobbing, than the men does. In this scope, it is aimed to discover the effects and results of mobbing, reactions of victims and solution formula based on mobbing victims of working women in business environment. To do this, with depth interview method a qualitative research has been conducted on 10 mobbing victim of working women who are identified through using decision sampling among the improbability sampling selection techniques. Findings of the qualitative research have been evaluated according to the gender and it is understood that mobbing has negative effects on working women and is one of the important problem that working women faced in labour force market. In this context, some suggestions are offered for decreasing the victimize risk of mobbing for women.

GENDER BUDGETING ARRANGEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS CAUSING WOMEN’S FEAR OF CRIME Abstract Com... more GENDER BUDGETING ARRANGEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS CAUSING WOMEN’S FEAR OF CRIME
Abstract
Comparing to men, women and girls feel much more insecurity and fear of crime to the environmental places. Derelict buildings, inadequate lightening and dark spaces, uninhabited gates, free areas, insufficient security cameras and poor means of access are the important factors for consisting of insecurity feelings of women to the environment (place). These factors expose gender based physical and physical violence against women and girls. Due to those reasons, it can be said that environmental factors make women to feel fear of crime. It is thought that gender budgeting implications can prevent these difficulties. In this method, it is aimed to identifying main problem areas based on gender, collecting required data and then budgeting for solving those issues. In this theoretical article, it is suggested that in cooperation with law-enforcement officers, local authorities and municipalities shall make investments and take some measures for eliminating the environment factors which cause women to feel fear of crime. For preventing the fear of crime caused by environmental factors, it is vital for taking into consideration of gender equality and involving the experiences and sensitivity of women to the process of spatial arrangements. In this scope, gender budgeting is an effective strategy both for environment policies and fear of crime matters.

Global Gender Gap Report and Equality at Work Platform Analyses, Assessments for Turkey Abstract... more Global Gender Gap Report and Equality at Work Platform Analyses, Assessments for Turkey
Abstract:
The main critique for the Global Gender Gap Report, which is prepared by World Economic Forum, is the ranking of the countries’ gender gaps due to the women-men ratios without taken into consideration of the countries’ development levels. Using one-sided scale during benchmarking, referring to the previous years’ data and ranking of the countries with missed data are the other criticised issues of the report. It is also seen that scores of Turkey in all sub-indexes and overall point regularly increase in the last years whereas the ranking is fluctuated. Thus, during the examination of the report, the country scores should be considered, instead of the rankings. Existence of the studies driven by the Equality at Work Platform, founded for decreasing the economic participation and opportunity gap, are important but not enough. In this framework, some supporting measures should be developed for working women in both public and private sectors.

Abstract: Women and girls take part less than men and boys in key areas of social life and they are more exposed to violence and poverty as a result of gender inequality. Gender mainstreaming is the main way to eliminate these inequalities. One of the tools of gender mainstreaming is gender budgeting practices. One of the applicable tools of gender budgeting is the " beneficiary assessment ". In this study, depth interviews had been done with 21 beneficiaries who benefited from the Income Generating Projects that implemented by Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations and a gender based analyse was made by using the result of the research and evaluations were made that how men and women were affected from the existing policy.

JOHARI WINDOW AND AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP: SELF DISCLOSURE AND FEED BACK WITH SELF AWARENESS AND TRA... more JOHARI WINDOW AND AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP: SELF DISCLOSURE AND FEED BACK WITH SELF AWARENESS AND TRANSPARENCY IN RELATIONSHIPS
The main problem of this study is to determine the relations of Self-Disclosure and Feed-Back behaviours of managers with their Authentic Leadership behaviours (and sub-components) when they are communicating. It is also aimed to find a correlation with Self-Disclosure, Feed-Back dimensions of Johari Window with the Self Awareness and Transparency components of the Authentic Leadership. To measure the Self-Disclosure and Feed-Back levels of the managers, self disclosure inventory is used. Staff of the managers fulfilled the Authentic Leadership Questionnaire (ALQ) and thus, perceived Authentic Leadership scores of those managers are obtained. Factor analysis’s, cross compliance and correlation analysis of the used questionnaires were also done. Considering Authentic Leadership together with the Johari Window is the key importance of this study, which is also new approach for the literature. Accordingly, it is identified that Self-Disclosure and Feed-Back have strong correlations between Self Awareness, while having very strong correlations between Transparency components. Same correlations are also valid for other Authentic Leadership components. Therefore, Johari Window Model can be used for explaining the Authentic Leadership. In addition, it is also suggested that Self Awareness and Transparency components may actively take part in Johari Window Model.

In this study, Transformational Leadership and Authentic Leadership are considered together. The sample used in the analysis (N=396) was obtained from managers and staff of these managers in public sector and schools which are in transformation period. The results show that Machiavellianism degrees, Self-Disclosure and Feed Back levels of these managers can be used as an estimation method to identify their Pseudo and Authentic Transformational Leadership behaviours. In addition, it may be also accepted that Pseudo Transformational Leaders have lower Individualized Consideration and Idealized Influence than the Authentic Transformational Leaders do.

In this study, Transformational Leadership and Authentic Leadership theories are discussed together. Pseudo Transformational Leadership and Authentic Transformational Leadership styles are derived from these two theories. The main issue of this research is to find the tools in order to differentiate the Pseudo and Authentic Transformational Leadership styles. The sample used in the analysis (N=396) was taken from managers and staff of these managers in public organizations and schools which are in transformation period. The results of the study indicate that Machiavellianism degrees, Self-Disclosure and Feed Back levels of these managers can be used in order to forecast their Pseudo and Authentic Transformational Leadership behaviours. Although these two leadership behaviours are both included under Transformational Leadership, it can be said that Pseudo Transformational Leaders have lower Individualized Consideration and Idealized Influence than the Authentic Transformational Leaders do. Relationships between Machiavellianism, Self Disclosure and Feed Back (dimensions of Johari Window Model), Transformational Leadership, Authentic Leadership, Transactional Leadership and components of these leadership theories are also discussed in this study. This is the first study exploring the Pseudo and Authentic Transformational Leadership and researching the forecasting methods to differentiate the leadership styles. Thus, it is essential for the Turkish literature in organizational behaviour.
