No caso, realizou-se, de forma inédita, um estudo longitudinal por um período de aproximadamente três anos, com usuários de telefonia móvel antes e depois da portabilidade numérica no intuito de avaliar os serviços prestados pelas concessionárias por meio da percepção desses consumidores em períodos de distinta legislação. Nowadays, the market for natural gas production and its use as a source of energy supply has been... more Nowadays, the market for natural gas production and its use as a source of energy supply has been growing substantially in Brazil. However, the use of tools that assist the industry in the management of production can be essential for the strategic decision-making process. In this intuit, this work aims to evaluate the formulation of Holt Winter's additive and multiplicative time series to forecast Brazilian natural gas production. A comparison between the models and their forecast play a vital role for policymakers in the strategic plan, and the models estimated production values ​​for the year 2018 based on the information contained in the interval between 2010 and 2017. Therefore, It was verified that the multiplicative method had a good performance so that we can conclude this formulation is ideal for such an application since all the predicted results by this model showed greater accuracy within the 95% confidence interval.

Como resultado desta interação, foi desenvolvida uma atividade de monitoramento ambiental que levou em consideração os saberes locais da comunidade da Área de Proteção Ambiental – APA Algodoal/Maiandeua, sobre Produto Florestal não Madeireiro - PFNM. Com isto, a Engenharia deu suporte computacional, com o uso da técnica de um Sistema Especialista, ao desenvolvimento das atividades das Ciências Florestais. Nesta proposta também se insere o ensino básico e, como tema central, apresenta o repasse de conhecimentos aplicados, na formação de alunos e seu envolvimento com o contexto sócio-cultural-ambiental de sua região.

This work aims to describe an experimental procedure for the synthesis of bioethanol by the alcoh... more This work aims to describe an experimental procedure for the synthesis of bioethanol by the alcoholic fermentation of organic matter, from the use of discarded fruits. Based on the procedures performed on the statistical analysis of factorial experiments was used to verify the influence of the indepen dent variables: the amount of must and fermentation time, in relation to yield response. The alcoholic fermentation was obtained from the pulp of apples (Malus communis) and tangerines (Citrus reticulata), as well as by microorganism (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). As a result, the maximum yield value was around 17.5% v.v-1 , which gives fruit residues a high potential for use in bioethanol production. The statistical evaluation was used to optimize the input condition and the value of 19.06% v.v-1 has been estimated. Thus, this text presents a model of economic viability and its environmental importance due to the use of organic waste.

This work is supposed to contribute to the development of researches in the area of Patch Antenna... more This work is supposed to contribute to the development of researches in the area of Patch Antenna. The general purpose involves a Microstrip antenna on Photonic Band Gap structure. The use of this structure implies in the reduction of the troublesome surface waves that plague the performance of these antennas and complicate its theoretical modeling. The FDTD approach is used because of its versatility to study the reflection, refraction and diffraction phenomena. For such problem, an absorbing boundary condition must be introduced at the outer lattice boundary to simulate the extension of the lattice to infinity. In this case, it is very important to avoid parasitic reflections and due this the UPML is used. Here, an efficient code using parallel processing is applied.

A proposta leva em conta os aspectos fundamentais da formação de um profissional que possua as características de um engenheiro especialista com uma formação científica básica. A organização de elementos da física, agrupados em conceitos e aplicações,é discutida sem esquecer a relevância social e predominantemente ambiental através do exercício da cidadania com tecnologia adequada. Some of the key components in basic education nowadays are: the use of information technology, an... more Some of the key components in basic education nowadays are: the use of information technology, and to know how to use it effectively. This article reveals several drawbacks with the pedagogical techniques used by most teachers in the Brazilian classroom. First, students come to school with patchy, flawed knowledge and information acquired from the use of the Internet, media and video games. Second, besides the scarce technological resources of most schools, teachers do not have the appropriate training to acquire and develop the necessary skills in order to perform satisfactorily. This work demonstrates that the latter is the most important factor that contributes decisively to the poor performance of students in basic education in Brazil with respect to other countries.

The LOGBOT robot has the ability for autonomous navigation in indoor environments, and remotely operated either from a computer station, which sends commands wirelessly to the robot. With this proposal, teachers will be able to achieve more autonomy in the use of these resources. The main result of this research is that the engineering student gains the ability to develop advanced strategies in design and construction of robotics, all involving the environmental and social issues.

Esta isla es un estudio de caso de la superficie forestal urbano, cuyo objetivo es caracterizar el comportamiento climático con las variables ambientales de temperatura y humedad, todo para identificar los impactos ambientales sobre la salud humana y la biodiversidad del foresta. The modification is based on the current characteristics related to the skin effect. Then, it is verified that by introducing some modifications, it is possible to operate at different bands. Such bands are around 2.4 GHz, in the 5 -6 GHz range, and at the UWB range (3.1-10.6 GHz). Index Terms -Monopole antenna, skin effect, Hi Monopole.

This research presents an IN SITU sensory platform developed through the integration of air tempe... more This research presents an IN SITU sensory platform developed through the integration of air temperature and relative humidity sensors on an ecosystem in order to obtain some thermal characteristic of the rural environments. This sensory platform contains an expert system to detect the behaviors of environmental variables that result in risk or without risk alert to the thermal comfort for human and animal health. For this, the expert system analyses the environmental thermal conditions of the UFRA University, through temperature and humidity index (THI). The THI values estimated (processed) from data of temperature and relative humidity during the year 2012. Four intervals of THI were used to classify human health performance (THI < 74: comfort, 74 6 THI < 79: hot; 79 6 THI 6 84: too hot, and THI > 84: extremely hot), and two intervals to classify animal production (79 6 THI 6 84: dangerous and THI > 84: emergency). The Amazon is located in the equatorial region and has a warm and humid climate that the prevailing mode reveals an alternation of two seasons throughout the year, hot and humid summer and rainy winter. The results that the most critical period occurs between May and October, although it was observed in every day of every year, the THI values during the hottest hours of the day (15:00 pm) range between 75.9 and 86.3, where humans and animals can suffer some degree of thermal stress, affecting negatively both. Therefore, we consider this platform as a good solution for thermal monitoring, which is based on IN SITU measurement technologies for rural environments.

In this work, a modified version of the Time Difference-of-Arrival method is developed and applie... more In this work, a modified version of the Time Difference-of-Arrival method is developed and applied for di agnosing faults (discontinuities) on ground grids. The method is sucessfully applied, since wide band signals are used for achieving sufficient resolution. FDTD simulations are used for testing the method and the numerical simulations are experimentally verified. Maximum deviation of approximatelly 10 em from the real position of fault is observed.

Some of the key components in basic education nowadays are: the use of information technology, an... more Some of the key components in basic education nowadays are: the use of information technology, and to know how to use it effectively. This article reveals several drawbacks with the pedagogical techniques used by most teachers in the Brazilian classroom. First, students come to school with patchy, flawed knowledge and information acquired from the use of the Internet, media and video games. Second, besides the scarce technological resources of most schools, teachers do not have the appropriate training to acquire and develop the necessary skills in order to perform satisfactorily. This work demonstrates that the latter is the most important factor that contributes decisively to the poor performance of students in basic education in Brazil with respect to other countries.

The LOGBOT robot has the ability for autonomous navigation in indoor environments, and remotely operated either from a computer station, which sends commands wirelessly to the robot. With this proposal, teachers will be able to achieve more autonomy in the use of these resources. The main result of this research is that the engineering student gains the ability to develop advanced strategies in design and construction of robotics, all involving the environmental and social issues.

The lattice parameters analyzed were geometry, dielectric contrast and size. The results can be readily applied in PBG technology devices design.

The modification is based on the current characteristics related to the skin effect. Then, it is verified that by introducing some modifications, it is possible to operate at different bands. This research presents an IN SITU sensory platform developed through the integration of air tempe... more This research presents an IN SITU sensory platform developed through the integration of air temperature and relative humidity sensors on an ecosystem in order to obtain some thermal characteristic of the rural environments. This sensory platform contains an expert system to detect the behaviors of environmental variables that result in risk or without risk alert to the thermal comfort for human and animal health. For this, the expert system analyses the environmental thermal conditions of the UFRA University, through temperature and humidity index (THI). The THI values estimated (processed) from data of temperature and relative humidity during the year 2012. Four intervals of THI were used to classify human health performance (THI < 74: comfort, 74 6 THI < 79: hot; 79 6 THI 6 84: too hot, and THI > 84: extremely hot), and two intervals to classify animal production (79 6 THI 6 84: dangerous and THI > 84: emergency). The Amazon is located in the equatorial region and has a warm and humid climate that the prevailing mode reveals an alternation of two seasons throughout the year, hot and humid summer and rainy winter. The results that the most critical period occurs between May and October, although it was observed in every day of every year, the THI values during the hottest hours of the day (15:00 pm) range between 75.9 and 86.3, where humans and animals can suffer some degree of thermal stress, affecting negatively both. Therefore, we consider this platform as a good solution for thermal monitoring, which is based on IN SITU measurement technologies for rural environments.

The method is sucessfully applied, since wide band signals are used for achieving sufficient resolution. FDTD simulations are used for testing the method and the numerical simulations are experimentally verified. Maximum deviation of approximatelly 10 em from the real position of fault is observed.

Therefore, a prior knowledge of the notions of differential and integral calculus should be accompanied in parallel to the systematic development of beginning students. Following this proposition, Maxwell's equations are solved in frequency-domain and in time-domain, through computational techniques. Thus, this material is aimed for both students starting an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Physics as well as those who are in more advanced studies on electromagnetic theory.
