A total of 223 patients with PCa, who had undergone preoperative multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging and had a biopsy of Gleason pattern (GP) 4, absence of GP 5 and pure Grade Group (GG) 3 [Gleason score (GS) 3+4, GS 4+3, GS 4+4], were retrospectively enrolled onto the study. The contribution of GG to the biopsy and Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) score for PCa harboring adverse pathology were analyzed. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to determine significant pathology predictors of adverse pathology for nomogram development. The nomogram was internally validated using bootstrapping with 1,000 iterations. The diagnostic performance of the nomogram was analyzed by receiver operating characteristics (ROC) analysis and decision curve analysis (DCA). A higher biopsy GG and PI-RADS score were associated with an increased likelihood of adverse pathology. Prostate specific antigen density (PSAD), biopsy GG, cribriform morphology on biopsy and PI-RADS score were significant predictors and were included in the nomogram. The ROC area under the curve of the nomogram was 0.88 (95% confidence interval, 0.84-0.91), with a high specificity (0.91) and moderate sensitivity (0.72). The novel nomogram was shown to have a higher net benefit for the prediction of adverse pathology in PCa, compared with any individual factors determined by DCA. Overall, a novel nomogram incorporating PSAD, PI-RADS score, biopsy GG and cribriform morphology on biopsy was shown to perform well in the prediction of PCa harboring adverse pathology at the time of radical prostatectomy.

Research paper thumbnail of Identification of the concrete damage degree based on the principal component analysis of acoustic emission signals and neural networks

Materials Testing, 2020

This paper aims to improve the calculation efficiency and accuracy of concrete damage degree iden... more This paper aims to improve the calculation efficiency and accuracy of concrete damage degree identification, and then to analyze the damage mechanism of concrete damage. First, the correlation analysis and principal component analysis of 15 characteristic parameters of acoustic emission signals accompanying concrete uniaxial compression and splitting damage process are performed through which the dimension is reduced into 5 non-correlated principal components. Then, based on the analysis of the relationship between each principal component and the damage and cracking mechanism of concrete, the damage degree of concrete is identified as an input variable of the BP neural network. The results show that the 5 principal components effectively eliminate redundant information and carry information on the failure mechanism of concrete damage and the damage process. Principal component analysis and the neural network are used to achieve the accurate recognition of acoustic emission paramete...

The failure process and failure modes of 3D printing building materials are focused on analysis in this paper. Experimental results indicate that there are weak adhesive layers in the 3D printing building materials, specimen failure occurs in the weak adhesive layer. The tensile strength average value of 3D printing building materials is 0.74N/mm². The shear failure of 3D printing specimen is not occurred, but bending failure. The bending strength average value of 3D printing building materials is 0.88N/mm² .

Research paper thumbnail of Effect of electron beam irradiation and microencapsulation on the flame retardancy of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer materials during hot water ageing test

Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 2017

Microencapsulated ammonium polyphosphate (MCAPP) in combination with polyester polyurethane (TPU)... more Microencapsulated ammonium polyphosphate (MCAPP) in combination with polyester polyurethane (TPU) was used to flame retardant ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA). The EVA composites with different irradiation doses were immersed in hot water (80 C) to accelerate ageing process. The microencapsulation and irradiation dose ensured positive impacts on the properties of the EVA composites in terms of better dimensional stability and flame retardant performance. The microencapsulation of APP could lower its solubility in water and the higher irradiation dose led to the more MCAPP immobilized in three dimensional crosslinked structure of the EVA matrix which could jointly enhance the flame retardant and electrical insulation properties of the EVA composites. So, the EVA composites with 180 kGy irradiation dose exhibited better dimensional stability than the EVA composites with 120 kGy due to the higher crosslinking degree. Moreover, the higher irradiation dose lead to the more MCAPP immobilizated in crosslinked three-dimensional structure of EVA, enhancing the flame retardancy and electrical insulation properties of the EVA composites. After ageing test in hot water at 80 C for 2 weeks, the EVA/TPU/MCAPP composite with 180 kGy could still maintain the UL-94 V-0 rating and the limiting oxygen index (LOI) value was as high as 30%. This investigation indicated the flame retardant EVA cable containing MCAPP could achieve stable properties and lower electrical fire hazard risk during long-term hot water ageing test.

The positive expression rate of LRIG1 in pituitary tumors was not significantly related to age and gender, the difference was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). This model has been validated with the measured data, the computed results of water level, flow velocity magnitude and direction agree well with the measured data. Based on the sediment grain size of riverbed in the North Branch, Dou guoren's formula is applied to calculate the sediment incipient velocity in the North Branch, which is compared with the computed bottom velocity fields to analyze the riverbed erosion and sediment deposition in the North Branch. The comparisons suggest that the hydrodynamic condition in the North Branch should be improved for meeting the navigation requirements. The research results can provide the government decision-maker for technical supports.

The fibers were then vacuum filtered to handsheets and hot compressed into thermoplastic composites with alternatively laminated polypropolene films(1 : 3 by weight). Surface features of individual bamboo fibers and tensile properties of fibers and their composites were investigated. The results show that nanoparticles and submicron particles grew into the wrinkles and micropores of fibers, the size, morphology and adsorbance of which were distinctively varied at different temperatures. The highest calcium carbonate adsorbance (2.34% of fibers' weigt) was obtained at 25°C. The precipitating treatment is a useful method to densify and hydrophobize bamboo fibers and heal the cell wall defects. The mean values of contact angles increased and the variations within group were reduced as the loading percentage of particles rose, which might be due to reduced hydrophilic groups and lumen space for water after coatings of calcium carbonate particles. Besides, tensile properties of all the treated individual bamboo fibers were enhanced. Comparing to the average tensile strengh and modulus of elasticity of the untreated, those of the treated bamboo fibers with the biggest calcium carbonate loading were higher by 30.50% and 32.71% respectively. What's more, the treatments were approved to enhance the compatibility of bamboo fibers and polypropylene, comparing to tensile strengh and modulus of elasticity of the untreated composites, those of the treated bamboo fiber composites with the biggest calcium carbonate loading were higher by 14.6% and 19.6% respectively.
